Simpletonian - now a complete Pugtones tune.

I put this tune out a month or so ago when it was incomplete. Just before Warren went into the hospital for his bypass surgery he did a bass track for this. Bill Davies, our other Pugtones buddy got ahold of this tune and did some keyboard/synth tracks. Bill always does intresting things with a tune.

It's always fun to just let other people do what they want on a tune. This turned out a lot different than I thought it would - but I really like it.

Thanks Warren and Bill for making this a very interesting song.

Thanks all for taking a listen to SIMPLETONIAN.

I rarely comment on our songs when they're up here but I have tro say, Martk sent this to me long ago and I was less than excited, probably because nothing was exciting me then.  I did the harp part last year and the bass just before surgery, as Mark said.  HERE'S WHAT i WANT TO SAY;  This song with Bill's additions makes me think of sitting in a city coffeeshop, on the sidewalk , with hustle and bustle all around me but a calming peace coming from this music as I drink my cup of coffee and watch the world move around me.  It's a beautiful world.

    Nice mellow groove.

The BG noise made it interesting...... but a bit distracting from the tune..... towards the middle the noise faded away and the music really shines.

Nice ripping tone on the guitar.

Clean, I like this version way better. You got rid of the twanging guitar strings that were in the other version. Nice guitar work and the harmanica is awesome. Nice jam.

    Hi Mark,

What a great vibe. I always love hearing your playing. The mix sounds great through my cheap headphones. I'm at  work and those background voices keep maiking me think someone's trying to talk to me

Very interesting and enjoyable – sounds like it belonged on the score for Bagdad Café. Great guitar tone. A terrific track to drive to. I found the background talking a bit distracting but everything else was right on the money. The female vocal adds just the right amount of sexiness/soul – call it what you want, it works. A few guitar notes (about midway in) seemed fall outside my scope of musical acceptance – but that doesn’t mean much of anything. I really liked it.

    Hey, Mark, Warren and Bill,

This is really a beautiful and fresh sounding, instrumental with a very cool, smooth relaxing vibe!

Tasty playing and great "soothing" guitar tone, smooth, throbbing bass, and rich, warm sounding keys all come together perfectly over the percussion and sound effects.

Wonderful collab, guys, and also a great sounding mix!
    Bob

P.S.: I'm also very happy to see that your recuperating and back in action, Warren! Have a good one, buddy!

I listened on my earbuds. The song sounds great. I did think that either my hearing was going or my earbuds were giving out on the BG stuff though.
Maybe it was my buds but I could not hear what it was(the voice). The arrangement and mixing were all great, you dudes really know how to make a good tune! .

I think it is a good candidate for a vocal part if you come up with one.

    Hello PUG'S,
This piece really has a nice smooth flow. Mix sounds so rich and clean on my end.
I get a chuckle out of your music because you guys have such an original sound and the verb/delay used on the percussion plays a big part of that PUG's tone.
WONDERFUL arrangement and performance from all.  KUDOS!

Manny- Thanks for listening and commenting.  I'm listening right now to find those guitar notes.  :-)  Thanks, buddy!

BobbyO- Glad you could take a listen.  It is a different tune, a Pugtones tune.  Your comments are very much appreciated!  I'm sure Mark appreciates the mixing comment.  He's a pretty good producer dude!

Frank- Thanks for listening!  I hope the Pugtones can do many more tunes now.  I have to get off my butt!  No more excuses.  LOL!!

Starise-  We appreciate your listening and commenting.  I do most of the Pugtones vocals, along with my sister, Eva.  I can't begin to imagine the vocal that would fit.  I'm still experiencing a lack of imagination from the drug stupor I was in for a few days.  I'm down to a couple pills a day now and can feel my brain trying to come up with stuff.  Vocals?  Maybe someday.  Thanks again for listening.
