You insulted and tore a man's music down like a pissy little child because you couldn't handle what he and others had to say, and now you have the nerve to ask for examples of your thin skin? I can assure you, I don't feel in any way "threatened". It's not even clear to me what I would be, in theory, feeling threatened by. Possibly this is something else you could explain to me?

Am reminded of the scene in a movie (the name of which which I can't remember - likely that group of brain cells has song lyrics in it) where the fledgling artist shows his stuff to a producer.  The artist has spent years working on the stuff.  The producer gives about a half a second to each page in the portfolio, yelling "cr*p", "cr*p", "double cr*p" as he flips each page.

I guess tearing down someone's passion is easy when, by putting it on display, they make themselves so utterly vulnerable.  I guess it feels good to some people to tear someone's life ambition down with a mere word or two.  I guess it makes some people feel like they're better than the artist who made themselves vulnerable.  I wonder how many fledgling artists would have made it, had someone used words of encouragement and constructive criticism, instead of overstated, blanket derision.

You are completely missing the point, which is of course the entire purpose behind Mike starting this "hey everybody, come and take my side" thread in the first place.

His modus operandi is absolutely to dismiss anyone who takes exception to his constant bellyaching and sneering as an rank amateur. This is his default mode of argumentation. Inevitably, this raises the question of what platform he stands on when acting this way.

It's not my job to "encourage" guys like this. I'm not his parents or anything. Probably wise, too, if people are so "fledgling" and "vulnerable" to not strut around like peacocks all the time. They're inevitably going to get called out on it.

It's interesting that you're complaining about civility too. I'm just asking you to back up your point. You're calling me an **** and saying how you'd like to fight me. Again, this self-awareness thing... you've kind of got it backwards. I can't really see that I'm freaking out about anything; you, on the other hand, seem about fit to burst.

How about we all stay out of it and let John and Mike settle this privately.

You say my posts are riddled with Freudian slips that I can't see. I'm personally not convinced of this, but I am allowing the possibility that you're right, and inviting you to point them out to me. You say my posts are replete with them, so you've already kind of claimed that finding them is an easy, trivial task.

However, when it comes to it, you can't come up with anything. It strikes me that the likely explanation is that there's nothing there. You're free to prove me wrong if you like, but unless you do, this is a bit of a redundant line of discussion.

The only thing that's weak are your continued pathetic attempts to avoid the obvious and accept responsibility for your childish behavior. I've already pointed out that you are not capable, or more accurately, totally unwilling to debate or discuss anything like a civil, secure human being. Instead you resort to belittling personal attacks and insults which is a clear classic indication that your ego got tweaked(your thn skin, Einstein). Mike was making light of the towering,@**hole insult you hurled at him... I would've PM'd you and asked for a face to face meeting and then promptly knocked your snotty pompous @$$ into the middle of next week. So, I'd say he has thicker skin than either you or me. If you've got some criticism you can actually point to some basis for, I'm all ears. If on the other hand, you're just saying "I don't like what you said about that other dude", well, noted. But not very interesting.

i think the reason the forum has been de-railed, is maybe because Sonars flagship program has been de-railed. Tit for tat so to speak. And, I am one of "the many" that lurks in the background, as I'm weary of the fight. I appreciate Mike's repartee.


BTW, where can your music and/or productions be heard John T? I believe this was asked and unanswered.

I can't see where I';ve made any threats or employed a "balled fist". And I'm not sure how one does a loud voice in text.

On the other hand, there is someone else in this thread repeatedly talking about how much he'd like to hit me, something you seem to be okay with. I'm not bothered about it myself, but your position lacks consistency, does it not?

So you tell me, is this about anything other than who's in the gang and who's not?

I'm not particularly here to defend myself. I considered the outcome predictable from the outset: the good 'ol boys will rally round Mike and his attention-seeking thread, precisely as he wished. I am quite sure I am making no friends.

The point is really the point from the thread upstairs. A increasing number of us are sick and tired of the way that the X1 forum is so frequently de-railed by the same small handful of guys posting the same bellyaching stuff over and over. Sometimes it's a thread dedicated to bellyaching, sometimes it's drive by hit and run bellyaching out of context in other threads. It's got really tiresome, and Mike is an egregious offender in this regard.

I'm not trying to defend myself, I'm saying :"Stop acting like dicks". I know this is not set to make me popular with the people who are being dicks. This is not likely to keep me awake at night.

  I guess I'm one of those good ole boys....I was just playing, but I think you might want to consider just calming down a bit. I totally disagree with your assessment of Mike's abilities. I never got to hear the stuff on this page you're talking about, but I think this is a wonderful performance and also was a pretty cool audio engineering wizardry to pull this off Mike McCue If you... You may not agree with Mike's positions on some things up there but I think attacking his personal abilities and talents is just wrong on all counts. Perhaps you and him should settle this with some kind of competition?   

I'll warn you now, I'm not giving up my "Mr. Untalented" title without a fight. I had to work hard for that and I'm keeping it.
