So....

What is your next planned purchase.

Not a wish list thread. Too many of those (broken dreams).

What (music related item) do you actually plan to purchase next?

I know mccue is planning on X2 (or is he?)

A left handed Martin DC-28E. "The full-gloss DC-28E is highlighted with a cutaway and new factory-installed Ellipse Aura electronics. Optimum acoustic sound reproduction is achieved by the ability to blend your choice of four acoustic sound images with the Martin Gold Plus under-the-saddle transducer. All of this ability is conveniently packaged in the non-invasive unit inside the lip of the soundhole.

Although I have another custom guitar still being made, the next real purchase will have to be a better DAW.

Think I should replace my old Sound Blaster as well?  It only plays Am now...

    What is my next purchase?

For me, any purchase has to be planned well in advance.  Next is likely to be VSL related (small $$$: solo strings extended).

With funds for this stuff being very tight, it is safe to say that my next purchase won't be X1 (or X2, or X3.14159 [in the sky by and by]), as there are a couple of things I could really use, and 8.5 is sufficient.

I would like to do a small computer ugrade by the end of the year (at least more ram - from 12 to 24 gigs, as I am starting to bump up against that 12 gig limit, but can live without it if need be).  It will depend on how much the budget can flex, and the budget's muscular flexibility is rather atrophied at the moment.

<smile> A tuner that has only Am?  I thought all the good stations were Fm?  Besides, Fm is far darker in sound than Am, and therefore perhaps more "minor" than Am.  Of course a really cool one is Dbm.

A lottery ticket that makes me rich enough to quit my job and have some time with SONAR.
Otherwise I can't in any way justify any music purchases anymore. It's all wasted money.
I bought 8.5 last june and it isn't installed in my desktop yet, and in my laptop I've tested it about once.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

    No money, no funny.

I`ve just got the car fixed for about 2000 dollars, but I bought a new computer, soundcard and Kontakt 4 last year, so I guess I shouldn`t complain. But a second midi keyboard is on my wish list.

Unfortunately I'm familiar with the disease and the symptoms. Though in my case it's developing to the terminal stage: I get so frustrated that I (now and then) seriously plan to get rid of all my  music stuff.

Most of them are painful when I try to get them under my chin, and I can't see where to blow into them.

I'll work those things out though.

Thanks to X1, I can have it tuned to anything and transpose to Am after the fact. That way I don't need one of those fancy pitch pipe thingees.
