This is a welcome change. I don't think there would be a whole lot of complaints if the next several months were dedicated to improving existing features as opposed to introducing new ones. Most of us have plenty to learn about already existing aspects of the program. Lately it seemed that every month you downloaded the new version in hope that the bugs and whatnot introduced by the previous version would be remedied only to get a new bunch of problems to be addressed in next months update. I'm guessing at this point, that after 30 years of layering code on top of each other, that it becomes extremely difficult to add new stuff without having unintended consequences. Don't get me wrong, I like many of the newer features that I've been able to figure out how to use, but sometimes a new anomaly can leave you dead in the water which can really take the joy out of music making.

I do have an issue but haven't reported it yet. If I try to copy from a tracks take lane to an other existing tracks take lane, Splat crashes for me. Not often I need to do this though but will report it soon :) One thing dawned to me now, I haven't tried to make a new lane and copy to that, maybe that works better. I must try that :)

running very smooth here. Not to turn this thread in another direction but things I would like to see in the near future: - Track templates that can used on existing tracks. - Ripple editing. - Automation lane size / quick grouping enabled. - A definitive meter (large + detailed). - Track colors brought back for themed skins - Project Templates that can be applied to already established projects.

Couldn't delete events in either Events List view or Sysex view. Had to manually bind the Delete key to 'Delete Item' in the Keyboard Shortcuts for both the Events Shortcuts and the Sysex Shortcuts. Weird.

One small problem regarding midi note chase: (I try to explain using an example...) - you have a song of 100 bars or so.... - you have a midi track with one or more long notes (let's say 8 measures... from bar 1 to 8). - You start playback on bar 2 and it sounds as expected... (very nice...) ... but .... if during playback you click to go to measure 15 you will hear that the midi note will not mute and you will hear it for all the 8 bars,,,, Could someone confirm it? Bye bye, Giorgio

I would start a thread for this. Your post is on topic but to get it fixed on the forum a thread of its own would work better.

Thanks for the replies and I'm glad to hear the mostly positive experiences! Good to know what to expect. :) @skyline_uk: The delete key problem seems a bit similar to the keyboard shortcut bug introduced in 2016.12? @joegab: Yes, that's an unexpected behaviour of the midi chase feature, it does sound like a bug. I also think it's a good idea to create a separate thread for this!

I tried to collapse all the tracks in TV with an "F" key as I have forever and no matter what I did I could not collapse them. After ensuring that I was not focused elsewhere I tried Shift-F for fun and voila they collapsed. I don't recall that before but things move along these days.

very stable here. still have the experience of occasion 'audio meltdowns' when place a vst on a bus...usually a compressor, Waves, but not limited to the latter. Sonar, vst's, Win10, RME, no-one knows. But it's a simple matter of just turning down my monitor in anticipation, saving my project, then on occurrence, closing and restarting Sonar and it's all good...wish it wouldn't do it though.
