Sonar 8.5 Producer

Nice to be back after 4 years.  I am reinstalling Sonar Producer 8.5 (probably ancient by now) in a new computer I just bought. My studio was wrecked by Hurricane Sandy and I lost everything, so now I'm rebuilding. When I had 8.5 up and running, I had a US 122 analog interface with it. I lost the US 122 interface, but would like to ask what you would recommend as a replace now in 2016.

Sorry for your loss, Don, but it's good to hear you're putting the pieces back together.

Anderton uses a Tascam 2x2, so that might be a good bet.

I use a 2nd gen Focusrite, and it has worked well for me. Nice freebies, too.

You probably already know this, but Tascam is a Gibson brand, so you should be well covered for Sonar compatibility.

Don't know if you know, but Sonar is now a completely different program.

You can actually buy Sonar Platinum with free lifetime upgrades. See the threads at the beginning of the forum.

So many changes since 8.5, it's well worth the upgrade if you're in a position to do so. The most stable version ever.

I'll take a look at Platinum. Not sure what it cost to upgrade, but I'll check it out

Nice!  I've noticed the tascam 2x2 doesn't always play nice with other on-board audio cards/drivers you might have when using Sonar.
