Also, you can assign key-board short cuts to the tool bars you use the most. And pop them out as you need them. Or set up a custom tool bar the combines just those tool bar features you need - assign it to a keyboard shortcut - J is open and available - and cut down on screen clutter. Just a thought.

ORIGINAL: puffer And, yep, you're right. The other thing doesn't work . Seems Susan is right, the only way to add four nodes at once, other than with the pen tool, which is useful though erratic, is to right-click and "add nodes to selection" could not get it to add nodes just by dragging the envelope. This sounded familiar to me, so i was surprised to find it didn't work, but then i remembered, V-Vocal allows you to create nodes by dragging the envelope in a selected area, so maybe that's where this idea came from.

Another "how to add 4 nodes" question: 8.5.2: alt-drag right click add nodes places nodes. What am I doing wrong? ================= Mouse tip: map the wheel button to the enter key, very useful. =================================== Bugs, comments & suggestions: We expect this application to not always perform as described. ba_midi Here's a simple way to A / B two mixes: Do your first mix (bouncedown). Mute it after. Do your 2nd mix. Now click the SOLO widget on both mixdowns, click the "quick group" widget on both tracks by holding down CONTROL key while you click on them. The quick group is near the track #, if you're unaware of this feature. Now click on the MUTE widget of one mix, then hold CTRL while clicking on the MUTE widge of the 2nd mix. You should notice that the two MUTEs look a little different than usual (they have a different color and have a slightly different icon now). If you've done this correctly, you can now click on either mute (without holding control) and it will toggle the mute status of the two mixes where one is ON and one is OFF. So just click Mute again, and it switches to the "other" track. Ie., if you muted mix one, mix two plays; click on mute again, and they will switch. Instant A/B'ing! Great, just what we need, A/B'ing tips from somebody named BA Cool tip! Thanks!

jm24 Yea, I get 2 nodes at the ends of the selection. Are you sure about that? The result looks like 2 nodes, but when you drag, you will find there is actually 4

Here's a dumb common-sensical tip that I can't live without: When splitting audio clips you can quickly create a fade-in and fade-out (of whatever length you want) at the point of split by having automatic crossfades enabled, then dragging the tracks so they briefly overlap (creating the fades) and then dragging them back to wherever you want.

I love this thread. Thanks for editing the first post to include all the contributions. What is the recommended workflow for zooming in to edit an audio clip? I haven't found a way that doesn't involve a zillion clicks (between zooming in and restoring the original track view) and that doesn't make me pine for Pro Audio 9's separate window...

Use a Main Output bus with meters, and analyzers, no effects. Send the Master Mix bus to the Main Output. This way the bouce to tracks mixes can be routed to the Main Output for monitoring, without having to disable effects,.. on the master mix. - drag clip fade ins/outs = absolute movement of clip envelopes of 2+ clips.
- shift+drag clip fade ins/outs = relative movement of clip envelopes of 2+ clips.
