There is a spiral binding type that has a spine/cover that covers the spiral part.

Not sure what the cost would be but I personally am willing to pay an additional $5-$10 more for that convenience.

Ah yes come to think of it I have a spiral-bound folk song fake book that has a solid spine as thick as the book with the title on it. I'd forgotten about that. So, theoretically, no excuses

The book is sold worldwide at a variety of retailers and they can all set their own prices, so to find the best price, you'll need to shop around. A quick search on Google shows that Barnes & Noble seems to have the best price at the moment at around $27.


But the books isn't discontinued or out-of-print, so you won't find it for like $10 or less, if that's what you're asking about. SONAR X1 Power! is actually still selling copies everyday, so it seems there are still some users out there who plan to stick with X1 for a little while longer.


Even the SONAR 8 Power! books still sells some... so some users must be sticking with the pre-X1 version too.

The eBook editions usually come out around a month after the print edition.

I've got a bunch of Sonar Power books and I don't want another book that has chapters devoted to legacy items.

I think there needs to be a new format available for updates. Raise the price on the standard Power book and publish addendums with each paid update. Essentially do the document updates like software updates.

I love the Power series but I only want to buy the X2 specific stuff. No need for another word on Pentagon or Beatscape or CAL when I already have Sonar Power 2,6,8, & X1. I don't mind paying, I just don't like paying for the same thing many times.

Unfortunately, books don't work that way. At least, I don't know of any publisher that releases books in that way and the publisher owns the book(s). I'm just the lowly author. I write it, but they own it and control how it's published, etc. I can definitely pass on your idea and suggestions to the publisher though.


In any case, there will be quite a bit of new material in the X2 Power book because of all the changes in X2 as well as the X1 interim updates.

I'm having some health issues that are affecting my higher brain functions, including my short term memory. I have been struggling with X2 but I just can't seem to remember the things I need to learn. I will definitely buy your book when it is available because I think I will need something like it if I ever want to record another song of mine. Keep up the good work, Mr. Garrigus, and thank you.

It is so frustrating to feel on the edge of competence but not able to reach it because of health-related lapses of memory and concentration, especially when you know it was the kind of thing you used to be able to do. Thanks John, and Scott, for your kind words. I get my health care through the VA so it's good to know I'll always have that. I've been disabled for a few years now and am not much good for anything other than playing on my computer and watching TV so it's a real bummer that I can't take advantage of the situation. I've been working on a new song for months and it just doesn't seem like I'll ever finish it. Oh well, at least we're still breathing, right? Could be worse.
