Instead of going down the list of things that need to be fixed I'd much rather save just save your money. If you have to trouble shoot every little thing. It's DEFENATLY not worth the investment.

thats a trifle harsh!

Titles like this should be saved for cases in which you've genuinely been conned, lied to, or otherwise ripped off. Quite clearly you're having teething problems which can easily be resolved with a little effort. And when it's all fixed, you're going to look back at that title and feel embarrassed.

You're right. I was EXTREAMLY frustrated. But now it's at least functional. Just a few minor things to work out now.........after 12 hours of tinkering.

It might be a nice gesture if you changed the title of the thread.

And share the solution so others having trouble might fix similar problems.

Suggestions were made Mattie. I would like to know if any of them helped. This forum thrives on dialog, meaning a two way discussion that adds to our knowledge base. We try to be of use to others. We can only do that if we have a good idea about our interactions. Even if you fixed it yourself its still useful information.

And yes your title should be change.

Glad things are getting sorted. I suggest you still call tech support to iron it out.

At the least, it would be nice to change the title of this topic. I think it's a little harsh.

Your problem is solved and your title didn't have any substance to begin with. Freaking out got you the help you needed but how is it helpful for you to leave it as is? That's why he asked you to change the title.

This is one of those situations where the bakers should just go ahead and change it themselves.

I like Steve's title change better than Matties'. Other candidates for title change could include:

"Dang it, I wish I knew more about DAW software" or "X3! Forget about it. I'm still trying to get Sonar 7 to work" or "I think the red thingy is coming towards the green thingy"

I'm TIRED!!!! of asking for help from Cakewalk community. In the old days, you bought the software, you installed it, you got to work. I haven't been able to do that since Sonar 7. First off. ALL of my instruments are GONE!!! Everything!!! (Solution go into the plug in manager?) NO!! Not at all. It freeze when I do that. Stops responding. Also, Sonar continuously searches for new plug in's. After it's finished. It starts up again. So, I decided to delete it and keep using Sonar X2...NOPE!!! For some reason I can't use many of my instruments on X2 now. This list keep's going on and on. Like I said, if I have to trouble shoot every little thing it SURLLY wasn't worth the investment. $150 down the drain. I'm SO GLAD I wasn't a first time buyer. I probably will be a last time buyer.

Hay I got some of that behavior...with X3b and now C...searching for plugins continually when manually asked it to find plug ins installed it does not see, and freezing up constantly...also the poof out crash, Where Sonar just decides to close shop, or when exiting the preference pane, (after unchecking 64bit double engine) and rebooting things got funny for the first run, I loaded up my project, and saved it through 3Xc as a cwa...That first save does not load up!..crashes Sonar right from the get go.......although I got it to work sort of by reloading the old, and playing it back for a while, then saving it to cwa again....

Sonar for me, It is not reliable, and I still get cpu spikes and anomalies when playing back.., Haven't got to record yet...but I feel this is unreliable workings...."I am now seeking new drivers for the mouse"...and I may change the mouse to a lessor prime evil one....But really I am on the fence...not saying this program is great, cause it certainly has issues!!!....Not saying it is trash cause I see promise coming through our bug hunts and resolves here on the forums......But I feel it is sinking into the bath water with what I have going on here, and reading what is going on on the forums...TURN OFF ^$ bit ENGINE MEANS WHAT?...SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE CODE!...and from Steinbergs formula of make em pay for updates for our buggy builds....I believe Cakewalk is starting to follow in the shadows of..$atan..even Avid are doing it...releasing premature builds for $$$...and the public are the R&D department...

So OP...it is happening with everything right down to the very operating system.....it is buggy when sold...and needs updates continually!...and everything in that computer also needs updated drivers to go along with the movement....

No need to worry...X4 is on its way.....LOL.

My advice would be to understand the limits of your daw and work "within" those limits. Don't blame a sophisticated program like X3 for these problems. It's proven to be a wrong assertion.
