Hey Jerry,  I totally get where you are coming from.  And i would argue way more than 4 part fugues benifit from staff view.  The staff tells me so many things,  from how an instrument will stick out in an arragenment,  how an instrument will sit in a mix against dialogue,  the intensity of an instrument or section and how it will blend with other sections...so many things.

I have a suggestion for you... try opening both PRV and Staff view at the same time.  Do your edits in PRV while making decisions looking at Staff view. It's not too hard to line the 2 up.

The staff view in DAWS is for MIDI inputting and editing, I would not want to use Sibelius for composing.   I export to Sibelius when I need a finished score.

This is the simplest answer to why any professional DAW needs BASIC NOTATION features!
(Sonar X2?)

I use the staff view to voice parts (i.e, strings, brasses, etc...)
...try doing that in PRV....

The Staff View will not be updated in the foreseeable future

Hi all,maybe is a little bit off topic but for curiosity in an italian Pro Music magazine i have read the last Pro Tools 10 conquest......the clip gain. People should think with their brains....Best.Roby
