I did the same yes hopefully.... that worked for me....but I didn't use CC for platinum install after the VisualC++install...instead I went to my account and downloaded the platinum exe file to my desktop and ran it. I believe I then went through an authorize process after that After that I rebooted...launched sonar ...and the good times returned :-) I went to sonar help and confirmed that my ownership was good Hope this helps

stonehedge Craig is right.....change is hard, and sometimes forced If you are still on windows 7 without keeping up with windows update...here is what seems to be working for me go to Microsoft....get the VisualC++ 2015 redistributable from here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145 download...install...reboot....go to your account..download the new version of Platinium....install offline and authorize. Can't take the credit for this...many have supplied this info in the forums..just takes a lot of time to find...thank you all Great support community
Thx - after the 2016.03 update disaster for windows 7 users I reverted Sonar back to it's pre condition so it works again now. On your advice I have now attempted to install the VisualC++2015 from your link. This won't work for me either. I got error code 0xc8000247 Unspecified error
Sorry reread your post....Not sure why you got that error...did you reboot after I found this in a search...does any of this apply to your system http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-update/error-code-0xc8000247-cant-install-updates/198166df-9549-e011-8dfc-68b599b31bf5

It´s time to reinstall Win7 and Sonar? Or upgrade to Win10? (download full installers from MS) Edit: of course first backup everything important !! And search your Win7 product key.

Resonant Serpent Open the Cakewalk Command Center. In the left hand pane, right-click on Sonar Platinum, scroll over rollover, and choose which version you want to go back to. If you want to upgrade to Windows 10, you should look at the Windows Update on your computer. Look under Optional Updates, not the recommended updates.
hey this is a bad deal all round for lots of people. I have a genuine version of Windows 7 that came with the Gateway PC I bought. About 3 yrs ago the registry got corrupted somehow & stopped the automatic updates & disabled the troubleshooter. So I can't get the free upgrade to Windows 10 The error code is 0x80300113. For past 3 yrs I've tried about 20 Microsoft recommended fixes for it but nothing works. So my Windows 7 hasn't updated since service pack 1, it won't upgrade to Windows 10 & the troubleshooter won't work. Now I find the new Sonar update won't work either. Microsoft don't sell a Windows upgrade from Win 7 off the shelf pack so looks like only thing I can do is buy a whole new PC tower with Windows 10 loaded.
You don't have to upgrade from Microsoft directly to get the Windows 10 upgrade. You only need to have your serial number handy and a Windows 10 ISO. I upgraded by using my wife's OEM Windows 10 disc. She has the regular home version of Windows 10. I have Windows 7 Pro, and when I put in my serial, it upgraded me to Windows 10 Pro. You can download a legitimate ISO from Microsoft for free. You don't even have to burn a disc. You can put it on a USB drive to upgrade. I loved Windows 7, and was reluctant to upgrade. I know how finicky Windows can be, and Windows 7 was always solid for me. I used Windows 8 at work and it didn't agree with me. But, I have to say, Sonar runs so much better on Windows 10. I even have my Faderport and Novation Remote running at the same time with no snags, which I could never get to work in Windows 7. Here's the link to the ISO: https://www.microsoft.com...are-download/windows10

Use free software - for example "Produkey" - to get Win7 product key from your PC if you dont have it, and download Win7 installer from MS (if you dont have original disc). OR: Download Win10 using the Media Creation Tool, freshinstall and use your Win7 key to activate it for free. Disclaimer: there´s a tiny chance the product key is useless for Win10 upgrade, if they (Gateway) used certain type of OEM license.

newysurferI have my Product ID for windows 7 ... Just a small detail: Product KEY is what you´ll need, Product ID is not the same. Use "Produkey" for example to get it.

I hope someone has the time to walk you thru it. If you don´t know how to mount that ISO file then I suggest to just burn a DVD with ISO capable burning software (meaning it is creating original files and not just another ISO image). Or maybe MS Media Creation Tool can do that, I have not checked that.. Then put it in your DVD drive, restart the computer and installation should start. Backup everything important first!

I had Daemon Tools Lite installed. This will create virtual drives on your computer that you can use to mount the ISO on your USB drive. Just be sure to pay attention to the install so it doesn't install any third-party applications. It allows you to opt out of all of them with a simple check box. Also, you only need the free version to do the install. Reboot after you install Daemon Tools, and just double-click the ISO on the drive. This should mount the ISO and begin the process of installation. Also, remember to back up anything critical on your drive. I unhooked all the SATA cables from my drives except the one that I was installing Win 10 on. It should be as simple as following the prompts in the install once it gets going. https://www.daemon-tools.cc/products/dtLite
