I’m kinda interested. If I read their forum right, it’s 64-bit and VST3 only.

I had Drum Core 2 at one time.  It wasn't in the same league as EZD.  Much of it was loops.  It's kinda sad Sonoma has put more effort in this product than their guitar app.

Back in the day Submersible Music had a nice product, they sold it to Sonoma who took forever to update it. The update did not really add much or bring it up to date apart from eCommerce features and a more modern interface.

Multi outs do not work in Cakewalk or Splat.

You do get some good audio and MIDI patterns from big name drummers and some good buy dated kits that might fill a few holes. (I still like the Luis Conte Latin percussion for example) but the whole program feels like a missed opportunity to build on something that once held a lot of promise.

Intel i7 3770K @4.4GHz, 32GB RAM, 240GB SSD System disk, 2 x 2TB and 1 x 1TB (with SSD Cache) HDD. Windows 10,  Sonar Platinum. Roland Quad Capture.

I own 4 but haven't installed it. Still use 3, since 64bit cake can handle 32. If you can deal with a stereo track instead of individual outs, I think they have some of the best sounding and most interesting kits on the market.

These are the actual kits played by the world class drummers that own them. These other packages you seem to get some standard kit without a whole lot of personality. I own EZD, Superior 2, AD2 all with expansions, in addtion to Session Drummer. Have used BFD also. The product is unique but has some shortcomings and strengths.

I wish they went midi only and left out the gigs of audio loops. While the loops sound great I just never use them since it is more work to adjust them for variation.

Billy Martin is my favorite drummer and they have an expansion pack for his set. Being able to put that on MY tracks was a dream come true.

Looks like the full price at JRR is less than my upgrade from 2.5 and Kitcore 2.  I hate it when that happens.

I'd like to get the upgrade but the fact it won't/can't convert all the stuff I got from Sonic Reality is kind of deal blocker.  It adds just enough hassle that they would have to really make it worth it for me to jump.  If I bought the full version from JRR how much of my existing stuff could I get them to migrate?  I think all I have is from some ancient group buy on KvR but it is some good stuff with Steve Gadd and Bun E Carlos.  Not sure how much of the rest of it is "extras" compared to core Drumcore 4 Prime.  Has anyone done this?

I'm not sure I follow, Matt. Do you own DrumCore 3? What are you looking to convert/migrate?

I own Drumcore 2.5, that came with 5 addons.  It was a group buy on KvR years ago.  And then later I got Kitcore 2 from Sony in an Acid upgrade I think.  I'm not really sure exactly what add-on drummers were included in the group buy (though I do have them installed).  The pages talking about upgrading on the Sonoma site are kind of confusing.  They do say they can't migrate/upgrade the Sonic Reality addons, which made up a lot of that group buy.  But it wasn't all of it, I don't think.  This was back in 2008.

I just found this Googling for it:
https://homerecording.com/bbs/equipment-forums/gear-reviews-and-questions/group-buy-drumcore-99-software-5-packs-264517/

Looks like it included Drum Core plus JT, UGT, Bun E Carlos, Zoro, plus Steve Gadd.  I still have the install discs in the garage I think.  It is all installed and working on this computer (which is already slated for decommission when my new machine is up and running).

I'm not really sure what these addon drummer packs mean with the current Drumcore.  I don't think they can upgrade/migrate the Bun E Carlos and Steve Gadd drummers, but what about John Tempesta, Urban GT and Zoro?

I’d probably email support@sonomawireworks.com and/or ask on their forum.

I was able to migrate all the original Submersible content but it was a bit of a PITA. I can't remember if the Sonic Reality kits migrated. I will check next time I am at my DAW.

If you are mainly using the Kitcore MIDI kits the original Submersible application is better as you can route to multiple outputs as long as you can use 32 bit. Drumcore 3 added some effects and a better mixer but nothing you could not do better with multi outs and the effects you have in your DAW.

I assume the multi outs work properly in other DAWs but I have not tested it. If you are using the audio loops the multi outs don't add much. I think they are pretty much focused on the audio hence the lack of progress in fixing the issues

I noticed on Sonoma's website they have RiffWorks Standard on sale for $29 also. Just thought I would mention it for anyone interested.  I am considering purchasing this myself. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select add to cart on the right to purchase it.
