Thanks again to all you great folk too BTW. All your words have been really helpful in getting a grip on the way forward while Cake have replied to my query with a "wait for the specials whenever they are" response. There is clearly no longer 'loyalty' discounting so the world of Cake has changed and I'll need to adjust to that which is ok coz nothing stays the same forever. I'm still used to the upgrade for existing users options..heck even other platforms offer attractive discount if you jump ship. Good thing X2 still works

Anyways..for now X2 is reinstalled and tonight I'll get the 700C back up and running with W10 and we'll move forward...but I suspect Mixbus will get a trial run coz it looks great from a mixing point of view.

Have to say this forum and you people, especially the Wombats, also bring great value to the table so thanks again you lot!
