and if you where "all that" as you clam, you would not be living on this sight!

I am not a clam.

Craig, I hate to jump in given your track record as a talented writer of some note, but since he used "clam" as a verb rather than as a noun, I suspect he is stating that you are clamming that you where all that. I believe this is actually "street lingo" indicating his belief that you are harvesting bivalves in a place where "all that" resides; all that indicating all of the bivalves, presumably. And by "living on this sight" he is proclaiming his dismay that you are harvesting bivalves in a public place for all to see, implying extreme shamelessness on your part.

lol... yeah... um? IMO ;) if you need to go hunting for crap on me you really need a life!

It took 30 seconds to find that post. I simply typed "site:forum.cakewalk.com dave000 self-righteous" and the thread with your post popped up as the first hit. It's debatable whether you're worth 30 seconds, but I was waiting for water to boil.

Frankly I have never liked you

I'm sorry, I didn't understand that, I'll have to work on that. But I do owe you an apology. My previous post went from a riff taking your words literally, which I found kind of funny, to a borderline uncalled for personal comment. I have removed the comment from my original post, and I apologize.

I can confirm that disabling 64-bit double precision engine in the Preferences heals Sylenth-1 and some other synths (Poly-ana and V-Station VST2 in my case). Hope this gets fixed soon.

I'd also prefer to see fewer features but higher quality and better design in the future. The recent updates are a mess.

Disabling 64-bit double precision engine in the preferences also fixes my problems with Sylenth-1.

I also can't render with the option '64-bit engine' checked without re-introducing the same problems in the exported file.

Just curious...

Is 64-bit processing enabled or disabled?
Is this a VST3 or VST43 plug-in?

I tried 64 bit enabled and disabled and I got the same very loud noise regardless. I believe Sigmund is a 64 bit VST 2.4, I'm trying to raise the issue on the D16 forum. I rolled back to JP and it works fine.

I'm late to this thread, but I don't see anything "speedy" about the Kingston update.  It takes as long to initialize Sonar as it has on previous versions.  Same way loading a project.

for sake of balance, I find Kingston to be a lot quicker in initialising Sonar and opening projects.

As an example, my Orchestral Template which is an absolute beast used to take approx 8 minutes to fully open.

I think that may also be dependent on VSTis used. IIRC, a chunk of the speed came from ins/outs with multi-timbral synths. These are not something I use often, so have not seen much "speed" either.

I don't see any performance issues at all really whilst using Sonar, but I agree with you about startup/project loading (and the start screen as well) being optimized. Could also do with some sort of 'please wait' visual display/buffering animation.

I don't have any problem with PC resources and Sonar is installed on the SSD OS disc.  Just does not appear to be any faster than previous versions either in initialization or use.

Just wanted to update on my Sylenth1 situation - the most recent update for Kingston fixed my loud white noise/distorted playback. While it was initially annoying that the synth didn't work, I've gotta say that it's very awesome that a fix was dispatched so quickly after the problem was reported! Kudos to the dev team.

FYI. I did a VST reset and rescan. It got quite wobbly - error messages everywhere. Rebooted - all works now. Not sure if this is system specific or not, let's just say it is right now until somebody else chimes in.

I haven't been around for a long time but just began to re-learn SPLAT and I want to make sure I understand a couple of things. Kingston came out a couple weeks ago as far as I can tell. I updated with no problems but I also understand there will always be some people with problems - like Ivory II and perhaps Sylenth1, Poly-Ana, and V-Station VST2.

Now this is the part I need to understand. Cakewalk came out with a fix for those problems today? And it works? Seriously? What company does that?

That kind of response was promised in the early days of this new model but the promising is easy. The execution is where it matters and this is awesome execution IMO and makes this business model very much worth the investment.

GREAT job bakers.

Yes, actually this took me by surprise too. FWIW as someone who's been following the SONAR evolution quite closely, I can tell you this isn't the first time "Seal Team Noel" has pulled off this kind of thing.

Confirm here that it also fixed my SubDestroyer not working/distortion issue. Scanning stalls, delayed sythns lines, all working after a couple of months. Now that's more like it! Great work!
