Steam to Platinum
So I currently own x3PE through Steam, I upgrade to Platinum through the webshop but I have an issue, I own several PC modules and CA-2A through steam but they do not show as steam purchases (or at all) in my cake account, how can I get these transfered over? I mean I bought them legit so I figure I probably should be able to sort this out???

Good question. I will look into this issue. Right now, the two are sort of treated separately although we do know you made the purchase.

That's cool Andrew, also worth noting, I had to remove x3, and in the end backed up my stuff and reinstalled windows to stop platinum hanging at the loading screen (which I don't mind to do I was due a clen up) so I guess some of the steam based x3 files cause a problem there, maybe you can look into that too. To be honest I am glad to be away from steam. I am in no huge rush as long as it can get sorted I'll be an happy camper.

I am in the same situation apart from CA-2A I also have a load of sound centre expansion packs that I need some means of transferring to Sonar Platinum as they don't to have followed a standard folder structure when they were installed

BTW, I'm in this club too having crossgraded to the Cakewalk Store Sonar Platinum - from Steam X3 Professional. I'm yet to do the actual install ... but have moved swiftly on the ADPaks ;). (One of the reasons was to take advantage of the ReValver Promo (til Jan 31) ... which turned out to be less enthralling than I thought as it was just the free offering + an XLN Amp ... to get you on the Peavey Appstore bandwagon. Along with the CA-2A T-Type Levelling Amp, there'll be the PC4K S-Type Channel Compressor too, as these two came bundled with the upgrades on Steam and never actually got registered to our Cakewalk Accounts (well - at least not visible on 'My Account') Aside: I got the Concrete Limiter and Expander Gate direct from the Cakewalk Store - these are reflected in 'My Account' OK. (I've also got a couple of the DSF Sound Center Expansion Packs - less concerned about those initially). PS: @Werewindle - if they are still about we should be able to something with the DSF Expansions regardless. Progs reside under %ProgramData%. Sfzs an wavs reside under Multisample dirs of DimPro and Rapture.

Thanks will have a look but as sonar x3 was a steam download you never know where they got installed. I must have missed something as sound center just freezes when opened. Did notice a lot of copying from Sonar platinum to steam folders when 1st loaded and it has added the steam vst folders to the list. Also had install issues with Dimpro now resolved which may have added to the problem.

I was hoping it would simply install to the C:\Programs path, Create new Reg entries and the 2 could coexist ... but it's obviously picking up the Registry entries for Steam X3 which is an issue. I'm not sure when I'll get a window in the immediate future to do the prep/install. I am pretty tech savvy ... but don't expect it to all be plain sailing. I am confident I do know where the DSF packs are installed (assuming C:\, Steam)... progs (and /images, /patterns) are under C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Sound Center\programs sfzs / wavs under: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\Cakewalk Sound Center\Modules\Multisamples - \Dimension Pro - \Rapture (according to pack) sfzs (top level) wavs in sub-directories prefixed with DSF e.g, - \DSF Guitar Samples - \DSF Steinway Grand Samples 64bit makes calls to the 32bit location for the sound files (in Steam). You can distinguish them from factory CSC sounds by e.g, date differences etc. ... but with backups in place it may just be easier to copy the full directories.

Luckily I have a 2nd PC which only has Sonar X3 Producer installed on it via steam, so looks like Just a long slog to cross-check folders contents 1st then move then copy to new locations. Steam was installed on D: drive as the C: drive is SSD and being only 256GB in size only use it for programs where I/O may be an issue which is where Sonar Platinum was installed. And if you don't re-install addictive drums check the VST paths in XLN installer as my 32 bit VST path was altered to 64 bit path. And it wasn't me XLN have confirmed (but not named) that some vendor software alters these paths which manifests as Addictive Drums & Keys are permanently marked as require repair.

Hmmm - you'll have seen some of the other posts about SSDs - good luck. I'd hope that there won't be any issue with Addictive Drums and don't intend to reinstall it. It was always a separate install from Steam to %ProgramFiles% / %ProgramData% and I have my XLN Online Installer VST settings directed off to my custom VST(2) directory anyway. (VST3s are common and external of Steam - but I don't think AD is VST3 anyway). Oh - but I'll check - thanks.

ShellstaX, I doubt it was essential and I am sure there would have been a way around it had I the patience to wait but I ended up having to first uninstall x3pe from steam, platinum still hung at the startup screen, then after a little messing around I just did a backup and fresh installed windows with only platinum to get that working properly, now a matter of waiting to hear back on if/when/how our legitimate purchases can be added to our cake accounts to get all of our gear available in platinum minus the pain in the rear end moving it all around yourself, which I could probably figure out to, just dont have the desire, I bought it fair and square I should be able to just install it from my cake account IMHO.

Any of you guys have any luck yet? 3 weeks later and "we're sorting it out" is getting old, replied to Andrews PM still nothing :( Starting to wonder how they didn't see this coming treating the same thing on steam as a seperate product, I mean I only want to use the stuff I paid for n all....

Greeny ... I suggest the Bakers are really under the pump at present. 1. SSO / Account Migration issues 2. New Store 3. New Release / Pricing Model / Development Model 4. NAMM 5. Getting Steam Release going I can imagine it would've all but 'mandatory' to those in Gibson Towers to have the core release in place for NAMM / announcements. I've still not attempted the install nor PMed, nor raised a Support Call. I really want to map things out first. I'm likely gonna do downloads and 'custom' installs rather than the automated Command Center install. I may not even be able to do it this month. I'm gonna hope/trust we'll be looked after ... but am not gonna start rattling baking trays just yet. (But then I don't have the immediate need). Yes, I would typically expect clear progress in 3 weeks ... I'd expect it in 2. I'm also keen to maintain the accessibility and goodwill of Andrew R, Seth K, et al.

As I have the week after next off I intend to drill down and see what is working and what is not. I suspect some can be corrected by just moving stuff around but just in case will take a drive image before I start. First thing is to see if I can load a small project on platinum without the load of errors I had last time.

Yup, dont wanna cause a big ruckus myself and I know they are busy, but we did pay for this stuff and we cant use it.... I can't imagine sorting out what seems to be a handful of cases would be a monumental task, the progress I have gotten in 3 weeks is 1 private message.

I tired moving stuff around myself yesterday with no luck, the non steam install doesn't seem to see any of the stuff I moved from steam X3 even though its all in the right place etc.

ShellstaX Here's some clues here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/241070/discussions/0/613948093877748184/#c613948093884468010 Yoonik suggests it's working for him. That does no negate the issue of the products not being in our Cakewalk Registered Products and able to be natively installed. PS: I hear ya Greeny ... and I will be affected.
I shall tinker some more, I didn't allow x3 to fully install from steam just took the files I needed from the download directory in steam since when I initially tried to install platinum over x3pe on steam platinum would not start, I reinstalled all my gear (a huge job!) and dont really wanna risk everything messing up and having to do it again. Time for an image methinks.

Hmm seems that there was some issue that nothing was installed/registered from steam when I tried yesterday, after a bit of file moving I have my CA-2A, my PC modules and the MP3 activator working right in platinum, job done! Now if I had a clue which fiiles to move around for the mp3 activator I could remove x3 and I THINK everythign should continue to work...

Well sound center doesn't seem to work at all and if I load a project with it in I get loads of errors saying it cant find files e.g. org-alloutslw.sfx yet the folder is in the vst list and can be found at D:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\Cakewalk Sound Center\Modules\Multisamples\Rapture\Sound Center Classic B-3\org-AllOutSlwVbS.sfz It recognises the expansion packs but immediately throws out an error for a missing sfx file if one tries to load it

Okay moving Sound Center Classic B-3 folder to C: drive where platinum was installed appears to have got rid of the load errors on the sfx files. Still have an error about perfect space "VST plug-in clsd can not be matched and for some reason can't get any sound out of Sound Center, but some progress at least
