HMMMMM

just bought S1P 3.5 a few months ago...
don't want to spend again so soon.

don't see anything in the fixes that really affects me,
and haven't had any glitches so far.

S1 v4 seems as rock solid as v3.x.  I have updated and don't regret doing so.

I have been waiting out the big fixes first. Both impakt and sample xt have some bugs that need fixing

That is tough, paying for updates and all.  Geez, it was only 3 years when they charged for the last update.

I have not updated to V4 due to the reports of Melodyne integration issues, for some users.

Has 4.0.1 resolved this, does anyone know?

I missed that part.  I long prior to 4.0 did you purchase 3.5?

There might be a grace period of some kind.  If it wasn't longer than 30 - 60 days, I would contact their support to see.

Did you contact them anyway - sometimes companies will "unofficially" bend their rules.  Wouldn't hurt to ask.

missed by one week.

wouldn't budge on a week.

oh well.

I don't get it.
What does this have to do with Cakewalk by BandLab.  I come here to learn more about the daw that I use and would think that this would be more appropriate in the Presonus site.  I would certainly go there if I had any interest in learning about it instead of this site where I learn about the daw I DO use.

Well, one of the Hosts kind of 'ruled' on a similar 'whinge' by another member, you can read his response below and then go back up 4 or 5 posts to get the full context.

I have Studio One 3. I had Studio One 2. I'm glad Richard posted this deal. Nor do I believe for one minute that posting about another DAW is a bad thing.

remember to back up a bit for full context

Are you also going to post the same in similar threads about REAPER, Cubase, Traction, Samplitude and on and on it goes, or is Studio One the only one that has you feeling insecure?

And I'm pretty sire no one was forcing your mouse to click on the thread . . . self control is a wonderful thing when you learn how to use it.

I don't get it.
What does this have to do with Cakewalk by BandLab.  I come here to learn more about the daw that I use and would think that this would be more appropriate in the Presonus site.  I would certainly go there if I had any interest in learning about it instead of this site where I learn about the daw I DO use.

yea, you don't get it.

Not that complicated. When this forum was created, Cakewalk’s previous owner allowed a space to discuss other products. Bandlab has continued that tradition.

Not to mention that Gibson's stunt last fall drove a lot of members to invest in other DAWs. We probably have one of the most diverse groups of DAW owners because of that. Regardless, most of us are here for the community that we have rather than the DAW we use. A lot of people come here to ask questions about various topics for that simple reason.

ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.

Perfect.  I totally understand having a section called Other Products Discussions.  Makes sense to me.  Just would expect it to be in a designated let's all discuss this if you're interested area.

I log into this forum several times a day and always peruse to find things that others have experienced with Cakewalk by BandLab.  I am certainly not trying to limit other peoples' discussions of other topics.  It just strikes me that it is like going to Ford's website and reading about Chevy.  Ok.  I get that, providing it is made clear and there is a designated area for that, I suppose.  With all that said, I am just a lowly user who has been with this product since the 80's so as always I go with the majority and hope for the best.  Hmmmmm wonder if the other daw sites discuss Cakewalk.  Nawwww...don't have the time for that.  Interested only in my tools.
I guess it took me back when I saw some of the posters as those using Studio One.  That works for me if it works for you.  BUT, I kind of got the feeling that is was more like stuff this up your nose kind of posts.  Maybe I read it wrong.  Maybe they are by Cakewalk users in disguise.  So be it.
I will continue visiting and learning as I read posts that are pertinent to my daw, Cakewalk by BandLab.
Thanks for the responses.

Oh yeah, except for the sarcastic post:
"...Are you also going to post the same in similar threads about REAPER, Cubase, Traction, Samplitude and on and on it goes, or is Studio One the only one that has you feeling insecure?
And I'm pretty sire no one was forcing your mouse to click on the thread . . . self control is a wonderful thing when you learn how to use it..."
I won't print my response to that one here.
