I'm guessing it's because the left handed door at Walmart was stuck. 

Sure, they could have backed in through the right handed door, but expecting the Alternatively Handed to accomodate the whims of the majority is Rightism, and it's wrong.

(That's also "ironic", according to the Left Handed English Dictiounary, available at Walmart.)
