djjhart@aol.com If nexus works in Logic in presonus ect and they dont see stuck notes , How can it not be an issue with sonar.. My question is why do you have to modify Nexus to work with Sonar and only Sonar? Don't you think its a sonar issue. S No I don't think it is a Sonar issue per se. The other DAWs may or may not send AllNotesOff messages but they do send NoteOff messages for each currently sounding note. If they send AllNotesOff too then they are repeating themselves. I have been told that Sonar only sends AllNotesOff which is the most efficient way of sending the message as there is no need for multiple messages and no repeating - remember MIDI is a serial thing with one action following another - things don't happen simultaneously (although the event viewer may look like everything happens at the same time - they don't) instructions are actioned one instruction at a time one after the other. AllNotesOff is a standard MIDI command and the most efficient way of stopping all/any MIDI notes that are currently sounding as only one command is needed, rather than several. VSTi developers obviously overlooked the AllNotesOff command - I don't know why - perhaps other DAWs weren't sending it. I got Kleps from ReFX hooked up with CW and a NFR copy of S7PE to solve this very issue and that is how he explained it to me. He happily stated that he was surprised but technically Sonar was the most efficient DAW as it used the AllNotesOff and only the AllNotesOff command - he was unaware that any DAW was set up like that until he saw the behaviour of S7PE. There was also an issue with the arpeggiator in a ReFX product which was unique to the way Sonar transmitted MIDI....On both these problems Kleps acknowledged that the way CW handled these commands was 'the most efficient and probably the best way' but since other DAWs handled these things differently (more cumbersome/more code/more wasted CPU cycles) and he had not had an opportunity to test with CW as he had not previously had a copy, he had tailored his plugs to the bloated Steinberg 'standard' which did not send AllNotesOff. - as had others..........ReFX is German, NI is German, Steinberg is German - do you see a pattern emerging here? btw - it took kleps a matter of a couple of days to patch his product for me once he'd got his copy of S7PE and I am confident that all reFX products will now not stick......all we need to do is get CW to work with other VSTi developers and give them copies of X1 to test on...

Very interesting.. Funny thing is when I spoke with NI support i was told the same thing on a different issue regarding Sonar X1 and Maschine 1.6.. That they didn't have a copy of Sonar to test machine with.. Hmmm I find that hard to believe , but I guess it is what it is... \ So whats the Bottom line, how am I to get these notes from stop sticking and patchs from changing? Do I have to wait till NI buys a copy of Sonar? I don't get it... BTW thanks for the info..

djjhart@aol.com Do I have to wait till NI buys a copy of Sonar? I don't get it... I got Kleps from reFX and one of the guys from CW here to talk to each other to resolve the reFX issue - CW gave him a NFR copy for testing.....we need to ask CW to give (these firms do not buy) a copy of X1 to NI. I suspect if NI asked CW for one they would get one. They obviously haven't. :(

ok cool that answers my next question..I didn't see anywhere in the specs about nexus being 64 bit or 32 bit so I assumed it was only 32bit.. and my next question was bitbridge if it worked under it. ,, i dont mind spending $300 on nexus but I wont spend $30.00 for j bridge.

Actually I got Nexus² and I use JBridge because it runs better with it. But than again jbridge sometimes causes a graphical glitch to the gui of Nexus².
