so no need to have a separate bus for each audio track? just one bus. for 5 guitar's? How would I control levels on each guitar if they are all on one Bus?

You might want to use a couple of busses if, for example, you have say 3 electric guitars and 2 acoustics - routing the electrics & the acoustics to their own buss will give you a lot of flexibility when it comes to mixing, but you need to ask yourself the question, 'how can I benefit my mix by splitting out certain tracks to their own buss?'

Thanks to all.  I never thought of bouncing the midi to audio first.  I always leave that till late in the process, and once they had told me I couldn't do such a thing on midi tracks, I never tried anything else.

Look out world, here comes some crazy pent up nuttiness!!!  BWA HA HA!

I am SOOO sorry I sort of hijacked this thread - please forgive me original poster.  I shall strive to do so again nevermore.
