install installs it all(altho it typically says reinstall if it already has been installed), update just updates what you already have, altho in the case of DPro it ain't a whole lot different in size, at least recently.

Thanks charlyg...

But I'm still confused...

"It all"?

I understand the reinstall... And I remember reading that c3 should now be able to download, but not install yet?

I'm just not seeing differences here...

I would think that install means it's already downloaded? Update means?

They both seem to download...

Thanks...

Sorry, I wasn't looking at it from that angle. I was looking at files size/download time, and whether the whole program gets installed, or just the update. As far as where the files are(cw or my computer), I leave that up to CCC. I just changed all of the non program things to the D drive in Everett(sp), and no issues at all when Foxboro did its thing.

The files are in program data/cakewalk/command center/downloads...

Im used to moving them there. Then when i run the particular update, it finds the file and proceeds to install.

But it didnt work for the c3 update. I placed the update file in the folder mentioned above, but when i alliwed c3 to update itself, it went to download instead of installing the file i previously downloaded.

So i stopped the download and manually ran the install...

All appears well so its not much of an issue, but im curious why the file wasnt found... Just interested in understanding.

The c3 update seems much better to work with. Time between consecutive installs is reqsonably fast (for now? ;-))
In conjunction with hiding entries (i have no real reason to download all the loops just to change the light color),
...and of course, the user accessible paths shoukd be giving many peopke relief!

...and using c3 is much more friendly... One day i hope to have full internet and be able to use it more completely!

Good Job Cakewalk!
