Next time I sit down to compose something, I'm going to listen to this first.  Enough of those sappy love songs...this is totally cool and fun.  Great job!  :)

When the vocal breaks in it sounds a bit like Don Fagen. I like the frank lyrics and those "speakers" coming in now and then. Everything suits perfectly well together, mix and performance are really pro.

I like the "I had so many side effects I couldn't fit em on one verse" I woulda said 'in' one verse but it's still a great line. I like the drums, I can picture him slammin it. It is a depressing topic but the sludgy beat fits it perfectly. Cool tune.

Equality- Thanks, glad you liked it.

Ed- Thanks for the listen and the kind words.  I actually did sing "...fit 'em all in one verse," so I guess I've gotta' start watching my ennunciation a little more .

At first I didn't like the EQ on the guitar. Then the second guitar kicked in around 1:40 and the issue was resolved. A moody, brooding song with lyrics to ponder. Good stereo spread. Drums and bass sound great, I like the minimalist bass. Another great job, fellas.

I thought I had commented on this one already, as I know I listened to it before.

This is just so out there, yet right here at the same time. Love that keyboard outro too.

I would like to play with you guys on a tune sometime, but I am not that good compared to y'all! These boys can play.

Mark- Thanks for the listen and comment.  The kudos go to Ed for both the bass and the drums.

Well this is nothing but GOOD. I think everyone over the age of 50 can relate very well, laff. I have meds for my meds! I have never understood (well actually I do) why pharmacutical companies direct market to the end user... the late Bear Owsley had an essay on this that put forth the idea that all drug problems come from two things... government prohibition and advertising, and it makes a lot of sense. I love it when I get a med that has a list of possible side effects as long as my arm and of course sudden death is usually one of them. There have been meds that I have looked at and then told the Dr., "Are you crazy? I ain't takin' this".
I have also seen my life flash before my eyes... it happens just like a slot machine, just rolls by... top to bottom (of course it could have had something to do with 16 purple microdots)... life flashed by and in 15 minutes I went form flying to straight... weirdness, stay away from that 5hit.

Yeah, your song got me thinking... it is really good. You got everything right, even the tempo. What are you a professional?

Really, nice work!!!!!!!!!! Relative to culture and well, just good. Reminds me a little of Sy Klopps Blues Band: Walter Ego. Consider this a rave review!!

Luke- Thank you very much.

Mark- Thanks for the kind words.

Julien- Many thanks for those very kind remarks.  Several years decades ago I was a 'pro' with a record deal and all that other nonsense.  Now I'm just an aging rocker having a good time writing and singing about whatever is on my mind.  I'll let Ed (Bapu) answer for himself.  Thanks again!

Ha, this was several logins ago for me?

I think it's gotten better. It's nice to have sweet/vintage instruments. My instruments are like my children, but they never dissapoint? I must admit, I don't hear a mandolin? (and I play the mandolin? It's a cool instrument)

This has a Led Zep "Houses of the holy" vibe to it with the strings in places, but then it switches up. The snare is maybe a little too agressive in spots, but I'm listening on buds, so slight mix comments should be taken with salt (like a Margarita?)

Like the slanky groove part. don't like it when it goes double time. don't like the doubled vocs. Maybe cause they're off. Maybe just pull the double back a bit.
Nice though. Those are just nits.

Freddy- Always loved "Come Together" so that's a fine compliment for which we thank you.

John- Yeah, Ed has learned to play real nice with those toys.  Thanks!

Jan- Thanks for coming upstairs for a listen.

Chas- Yes sir, those were cellos.  Thanks for the kind words.

Definitely my pleasure.

Ed- Thanks for the holiday bump... you devil you :-)

Lynn- Thank you.

Robby- Hey, how ya' doin'?  Thanks for listening, and where can I get this margarita of which you speak?

Tim-  Thanks for the listen and comments.  I'm curious where you heard the the doubled vocs off, 'cause it got past both Ed and I (no big deal... if you get a chance).

Daryl- Thanks for the kind words.

Ah the fireworks again!  Philz with physician invokations.

Had to hear this again! Hi-res version on my Adams:

This is a fav of all times for me, the whole thing! This seems better than last years.

-- Esp Love that left bass vio-like stuff going on at the left (like Led Zep's Kashmir or something)
-- great transitions (double-time is most splendid for me ... taking this up several notches)
-- and ear snacks for holiday digestion.
-- Wow WOW WOW!

Well, reading some of the "sounds like" and I'm thinking ok, maybe...  But from the beginning I just kept thinking how much it reminded me of a Joe Walsh tune.

Fun!  Me likey!

Daryl- Thanks, glad you liked.

Philip-  Not sure why Ed dragged this out again (holiday tradition perhaps), but I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it so much.

Craig- Hey, thanks, I'll take that Joe Walsh comparison.  Eager to see that new ax when it's finished.

Hi Phil,

I almost passed this by 'cause I thought it was a holiday specific tune and I was away during the 4th.

Glad I didn't, though. Sounds great, man! Love the groove and the cello parts...

Production/arrangement and performances all sound excellent from here!
