The 4th of July (Featuring Bapu & Son)

Bapu decided that he was going to remix this song, which was the first tune I completed in Sonar and posted here in Songs.  While Ed was visiting here in May he picked up my vintage Gibson L50 and re-recorded the acoustic guitar track, and upon his return to California, got his incredibly talented and versatile son, Jason, to add a mandolin part in the choruses.  Oh, and then he added a much improved drum track, as well as re-recorded his bass part and mixed the whole thing way better than my maiden mix.  It’s good to have talented friends .

Anyway, we like the way it came out, and hope you all will enjoy it too.  It’s the second song down on my Soundclick page.

    Hi, Phil and Ed,

I remember loving this gem when I first heard it way back when, and it really sounds great this time around, too!

Really cool songwriting and lyrics, all of the instruments and playing sound excellent, and the vocals are truly fantastic.  The mix is clear, wide and pro sounding.

    Dynamite work, gents!

Yep, well done guys...this sounds really great on my end too! I love the vibe of this....kinda reminds me of a scary sounding Beatles version of Come Together in that verse part. VERY cool guys! :)

I gotta agree with Danny , this does have a wee bit of an edgy "Come Together" sound to the verse.  Terrific arrangement, playing, and production.

Wow something I liked after I only listened to it for 5 sec.  It is a good song when it can make me like it after a short listen.

Great mix and master, obviously not real strings but really good sound, reminds me of T-Rex (the strings), I love the doctor **** as well.

    Wow I can't fault it.

    Great Work Peace

    (Oops deleted some comments)

Alice Cooper from Indiana has me elected for the *celebration*
    Chorus is awesome.

Your generous ear candy radio is such a perfect ambience for me, and I would have loved a smidge more of that signature haunting the party.

The vocals may be slightly scratchy during a couple verse lines (which may be intentional) til the ultra-majestic chorus utterly 'wraps things up' and rocks my socks off!

    Most splendid  -- ha ha!
