Big solid full production.

Bass end is a little muddy in some places, clutters up the guitars in the build-up busier parts... maybe EQ the low end to give it more clarity and punch either that or on the reverb! What did you use for the Kick drum?

The Guitars are awesome! Absolute standout.

The vocals style suites this track perfectly and are done superbly.

Great synth textures, fantastic intro.

A pleasure to listen to, great collab guys! Definitely worthy of the Coffee House #1 Asparapuss Song of the Year Award :-)

Wow. I get back from nearly 2 weeks away from the 'hood, and this was waiting for me. I found myself headbanging before my computer and suddenly remembered I don't have that much hair anymore...

1986, here I come...

This song causes eyeball hemorrhages, and the guitar solo made me pop my colostomy bag. Aside from that I think it was a wonderful, zen-like experience. Way to go, CHuBbers! I'd post more of a commentary, but I have to go coax my my dog down from the ceiling.

Great job! What a great project for a crazy group of Coffee House posters! Loved it. The pilot chatter at the end was sooooo cool. Creative and well executed all around. Ordinarily I would opt for less hot distortion in the mix but this song DEMANDS it!

Bowing.......

Blimey page 3, still No 1 and we haven't had to give out any freebies or change the thread title, seems the only way I get a No 1 track is when I team up with Strummy somehow...

Tex: I still reckon there's room for that ol' Rainstick.

Darin: Yes I reckon Space hit a universal nerve in the funny bone with that lyric...

Mark: I'm sure Devin would be proud..., thanks for the salut.

Rob: Sorry I took so long replying to you... Thanks for the props, yeah maybe it could have been a bit shorter but surely that would have made it less grandiose and OTT and beside we've attempted the idea of a 'concept' single here... Maybe the next one will be even longer like a short and sweet suite...

Frank: I'll bet you're only saying that 'cause it's true...

AWESTRUCK at the idea that Zappa, the Flaming Lips and Dethklok had a three-way love child...

The Overture! Those in-s-a-a-a-a-ne drums! That or Ed's Bass line is astounding! Space_Cowboy in the driver's seat! Fog on the radio.... Holy Crow. I'm in awe. Nice mixin' there Jonbouy. I had to play it for my two-year old, and her lil' head appropriately went bang, bang, bang. I think she liked it, too... Can a non-band member demand that another band meeting be set immediately?

We meet almost daily (online and offline)!

It's a nail-biting, hair-pulling, sneering and wheezing affair I tell you (but no BLUES as JB says).

But, we make progress, just like the erroding of the White Cliffs of Dover.

The 'man with a plan', eh?

Sorry about forgetting to mention you both, bapu and Alex. Let's not exclude Asparuss himself here. The manager, the sound guys, the tea lady. The guys from security.

Did I forget someone? Your parents? Accountant?

Greg: The order of the day here was that everyone went for their own individual sound and produced their own stems given that approach I went for a 'live' gig 'everything must be louder than everything else' type mix so I'm not surprised at a bit of clutter. We know what to expect of each other next time round though and hopefully those issues will be sorted for the next track. The kick is a Drum Workshop 24X18 multi-mic'd, velocity layered sample from the Reason Drum Kits library and was recorded with a Neumann U47 from 4" away. The grooves here were extracted from some old live audio takes of mine with the dynamics manually adjusted.

Thank for the props we all appreciate 'em, and I agree this is probably the 'Asparpuss' song of the year...

Russell: I'm too young to remember '86 so it's all new to me....honest....really. The advantage of being follically challenged when headbanging is you don't get all that hair in your face......I would imagine....

Spaceduck: I'm wondering now if you are related to our Space Cowboy. Sorry 'bout the red eyes and the brown shirt and I hope your dog has recovered too.

Tony: I'm loving the quote from 'Kerrang', did they really say that?... Yes, I agree the toon was asking to be given the full treatment so I did try to oblige....

Thanks again y'all.

Wow, you guys are mad talented this was great. I was excpecting some Bruce Dickinson style vox to the music but it had more of an Ice-T in Body Count vibe to it wich was really cool. I'm not going to accuse you of using illegal chemicals (or some natural plants as well...) but what's up with the lyrics they're just mad! Incredibly funny and incredibly well done my friends. It's great to get some hard music with a sense of humor. Since this is not at all the music I make, though I listen to some and like it a lot, I can't really offer any valuable crits but to me it sounded excellent. Two thumbs up!

During a bout of insomnia, as I lay staring at the ceiling, a curious thought crossed my mind. We are talking here about the odd combination of a cat (Felis silvestris catus) and asparagus (Asparagus officinalis). This is a significant feat. It means the combination between not just one species and another (that has been done) but between entire Kingdoms. An accomplishment never before achieved. However, this does set up a conundrum. What I say, if this beast (great and noble beast though it might be) should come across some catnip? One knows the temptation that catnip has for all cats. Would Asparapuss be tempted to consume the catnip? Would consuming this catnip be approaching the horror of cannibalism? Would catnip be the equivalent of krypton to Superman??

Just thought I’d ask? I must get some sleep so I do not do this any more.

Daryl: Thanks for the comments, yeah I'm not sure where Space draws his inspiration from, but I can guess... I think all of us CHB'ers love that Hot Rats era ('cept for Strummy who is far too young of course.)

Julianna: Yup, call a meeting it's everyone's Coffee House! I think that hybrid 3 way love child you've mentioned there about sums it up for me, well it's certainly some kind of mongrel monstrosity for sure... Thanks for the props.

Legion: 'Ice T in Body Count' LOL! I wasn't expecting that, but now you mention it. We appreciate both thumbs here. Thanks...

Freddy J: Thanks for coming round again and sharing your thoughts, heaven knows what effect catnip would have some things, perhaps fortunately, are beyond the narrow minds of men...

Alan: Reading between the lines it looks like you enjoyed it!!!!... Thanks.

Dave: Metallica are too quiet and the Tap have got a little complacent to get the gig really, I quite like the idea of Katy Perry opening for us though. I'm still loving the Cowboy/Strummer input here too. Thanks for dropping by.

Mark: Looks like we're in need of a band leader, actually thinking about it I'm not sure how I got involved here, I think it just grew out of my passion for Asparagus....Strummy usually seems to be the most coherent among us it's prolly worth dropping him a note.

btw This track is still No1 on the 'lunatic fringe' chart, which may not add up to much in the whole scheme of things, but it means a big deal to me because it means a lot of you guys/gals have taken the time to take this for a test drive which is MUCH APPRECIATED here!
