Janet

Great job, you guys!  What a great line-up.  Steve, isn't it great to see your tune turn out like this?  :-)

It certainly is Janet.

It's also an incredibly humbling experience to follow the progress of a 4-track demo I put together in Guitar Tracks right through to the final song that was mixed in a pro studio

All right, time to say some thanks here.  Many thanks to our Forum brothers and sisters for their comments and thoughts: Herb, John, Tom, Bub, Philip, Scotty, Bill, Reece, Greg, Mark, James (Radio), Gary, Mooch, Freddy, Rhynosynth, Bobby, Venus, Vechung, Janet, Daryl, Frank, James (SMB), Bob, Cliff, James (Yoyo), StudioCat57, Barry, Paulo, Mike, M@B and Kroneborge.  Phew.

For those who liked it, I'm glad you did and for those who didn't, well... maybe we'll capture your hearts and minds next time out.

For my part, this was a lot of fun, and for me, a genuine thrill to work with such an incredibly talented group of people.  I loved the track from the first time I heard it, and it was a blast doing the vocals (albeit a mite tough on the throat).  So, I'll add thanks to Alex, Ed, Jon, Strummy, Grant and Danny for their amazing performances and work on this tune.  It was an honor to be a part of it.

Thanks for your great comments Phil (StudioCat57) - we really appreciate them

Hey Barry - thanks for checking the song out, and for your generous comments.

Paul - don't worry about it 'going over your head' mate - Bapsi also says that when we ask him to play something in any key other than Am

Great song... I love the drumming!!!

It's all good stuff even the part where bapsi steals the solo from Stevie... I hope he looked over and at least gave Stevie a head nod and a wink while he silently mouthed the words "here comes the Am... I'm dropping the bomb"

Sorry it took me so long to give this a listen.  Really enjoyable and quite a production undertaking.  Everyone's work is exemplary but the outro lead put the icing on the cake for me.

@Tony - thanks for listening.

@Mark - We all understand why it took some time (besides it being an 8+ minute song). Glad you're feeling better.

This is largely the same llineup that did High Heel Sneakers? This tune must present their evil alter egoes. Grampa Ed should come up a bit. Grant some good pickin there. Steve this is just the kind of thing I'm talking about, the stuff that rubbed off on me. I love it. Kickass drums JBoy!. Danny, I wish some of that would rub off on me. A ton of fun fellas.

Hey Mark, thanks for the kind words my friend - and I'm humbled that you say this sort of stuff has rubbed off on you

Only half the CHB contributed to High Heel Sneakers - Ed, Grant and Phil. I think Jon, Danny and me were working on a five hour piece for piccolo and banjo at the time

Wow thanks for the kind words everyone. Really appreciate them. :) Also, I noticed a few of you had commented on the production etc...if there's ever anything I can do to help you out, please don't be afraid to post a message or a question. Honest...as funny as this may sound, I really don't bite unless bitten first. LMAO! :) I'm not a huge Sonar guru, but have a few things I can share production wise if you are ever curious. I love talking about the production end and really enjoy helping people that may be struggling.

That said, any engineer is really only as good as the band he works with. Thankfully, we have quite a talented line-up of guys so it helped more than you know going into it all. We had a few bumps in the road with a few instruments, but nothing that was anything to worry about. I'm really glad I posted the message in the coffee shop to these guys. I was hesitant at first, but it's rare to have stepped into something like this through the net to where you just have incredible outlets from talented musicians from all sides of the globe with all styles to boot. Hopefully, this incredible chemistry will produce some really great songs within the band and we can hopefully win some of you over that may have chalked this song up as "not really for me." I got news for ya...it wasn't really for me either at first. LOL! I was asked to sing on it...can you imagine a Richard Marx type voice on this tune? Yeah, I can't either. LMAO!!!!! But I think it really came out well and without one of the guys in on this, it wouldn't have turned out for the better like it did.

Again, thank you all for the kind words, the listens, critques and support. We have a few more in the works that should really be great once we get them all together. Steve is a writing maniac...we'll have enough tunes to draw from for life. :) Thanks again to the guys for welcoming me in and instantly becoming family. I feel blessed to be a part of this. :)

WOW.

This is stunning.

One of the most pro-sounding tracks i've heard on this forum, and that's saying somthing with the talent here.

Phil's vocals are amazing and the musicianship of all involved is fantastic.

The mix sounds incredible on my speakers.

Absolutely brilliant.

Epic tune! Great great great! Mix sounds great! (Is that Jonbouy's actual drum playing? I mean, is it programmed or played? Regardless, awesome Jonbouy!)

But!

IMHO, maybe because of my musical tastes and since i'm used to hearing more aggressive pedal tones, it would have about thrice the impact on me if the kick drum had a little more power and click (it's a little underwhelming IMO. There's something missing, especially on the early parts of the double kick.)
And also the snare maybe.

There were also snare fills on the early parts that sounded a little robotic.

But then again,

I love the guitar solo part around 6:00 minutes, i love those type of melodic power/prog metal-esque passages that sound like they could be a theme for a Sega racing game.

Check out my band's song on YouTube!
