This thread is totally deep-seeded and has certainly peaked my interest, but for all intensive purposes, I'll have to do diligence and I could care less about getting some piece of mind.

Since the grammar police are watching, I should mention that the word you're all looking for is "piqued". Unless "peaked" has some esoteric definition not in my dictionary.

All of this begs the question of "who cares"*. *Only some will get this.
In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

Hi, The worst one for me, is the best one ... taking calls from our folks at work and they give me the address, and this and that and then a zip ... three00hsixfourzero. On the same number ... fer crying out loud ... a zero is not an O and an O is not a zero. If that's bad, in California we say oneohhone ... not onezeroone! And as a policeman friend once said ... you would be horrible at reading license plates! There ... education and grammar all in one!
Music is not about notes and chords! My poem is not about the computer or monitor or letters! It's about how I was able to translate it from my insides!

The problem that intuitive types (psychics and others) experience is that, because they don't deal in *desire* as much as the other psychological types, they mostly mute their ego in the service of the intuition or emotion, they are thought to be desiring the various outcomes that they prophecize. That's why masons and the other crazies are basically evil. :D:D There's very little DESIRE in prophecy.

Well, except for the desire to believe in nonsense.

Well if you've never experienced it, then perhaps you don't *believe*. :D I'm sure there's a logical (positivist) reason for their intuitions, but it's still possible that GOD DID IT.

*dons nerd goggles* I can't see sh*t now, but here goes! The history of the spelling of the metal element which the English now spell "Aluminium" is a bit more involved than most realise. It even went through a phase of being spelled "Alumium", which is how it was spelled originally by its original namer, Sir Humphrey Davy. 'Alum', the root, is Latin and means bitter salt (IIRC in chemistry, 'alum' is a double-salt compound and is definitely NOT to be confused with sherbet, especially when a chemistry teacher offers you a bag of 'sherbet', the bastard...although it was kinda funny...afterwards). Anyway, Davy basically cocked up the spelling, then changed it to Aluminum (!) and then afterwards to Aluminium.
