cryophonik 10Ten It wasn't me that tried to tell others what they could and couldn't say. I am willing to listen to anyone's opinion on the matter and if I choose to ignore someone, I just don't read their posts. Nobody's telling you what you can and can't say, but here's a word of advice. You and a few others have made your opinions abundantly clear in countless threads and now you're just starting to look like whiny little boys. You obviously don't realize or comprehend that you've singlehandedly destroyed your own credibility with your ad nauseum complaining in many peoples' eyes and, by now, the more that you whine and carry on, the less we listen or care, particularly when it's completely off-topic in the thread at hand. So, you can continue to carry on with your childish nonsense and keep derailing threads and lose any remaining credibility that you may still have, or you could grow up, smarten up, and issue your complaints through the proper channels and relevant threads. I may be wrong but I don't see you posting this sage advice with people that do the same but on the other side. The "it works fine for me"crowd. If I had some credibility with the "thank you sir may I have another" bunch, what would I have?

Look, it is real simple. Either you missed my request and just typed a response...fine. Or You did read my request and decided to ignore same...well, that is indicative of your attitude. Like I stated before. It's an open forum. I can only "request", you and and others decide to ignore or grant my request. Katherine Nice try Katie but I don't think the crew is going to follow. You may have a mutiny on your hands. I'll have to give screensets a +1 also. I haven't had time to really delve into X1's workings yet due to work but so far I'm seeing the logic in the changes. I liked 8.5.3 and Win 7 for a number of really important improvements in workflow and performace but I for one are still waiting for some updates for VS 700 system. The gripes with X1 range from old work habits to incompatibility issues with some interfaces and third party plugins so there are going to be gripes and questions that will take time. I don't know how long you've been using Sonar for whatever side of music creation you are into ( song creation or engineering) but you'll find people don't hold back here, whether they make sense or not. But anyway... Hi, nice to meet you.

"Nice try Katie but I don't think the crew is going to follow. You may have a mutiny on your hands. " Yeah, I kinda knew I was heading for a Sisyphus like destiny. Every DAW user has a bit of a drummer in them - the the creative renegade. But for the extra renegade types there is the trusty Block function - works nice. "I don't know how long you've been using Sonar for whatever side of music creation you are into" Long, time, cut my teeth on the DOS version. I use it, along with PT for business and pleasure. Mainly business. Sonar for Midi, PT for Audio. "nice to meet you" Katherine Ditto and thanks for the input.

A lot of people that are usually Cakewalk's biggest supporters are up in arms over this. Just because you want to hide behind some feigned "positivity" doesn't mean others will. It is people like me that get things fixed, not people like you that will accept anything. Would it hurt you to actually support your fellow users and consumers for once?

Again, your credibility is shot as far as I'm concerned 10Ten. I've given you my advice and you obviously have no intentions of improving your attitude, so go ahead and continue to be miserable and I'll continue to be positive. I've lodged my share of complaints concerning X1 in the appropriate places, but I don't see the point in derailing every thread and making myself look like a whiny idiot - my spare time is too limited and I spend as much of that time as I can being productive with X1. Besides, I'm smart enough to know that Cakewalk is paying attention and is working hard to resolve the problems with X1 with or without the excessive complainers.

Yup. I love X1. I just went up to 64 bit after using 32 since day 1. Whoa! My computer just flies. The more I learn, the better it works. I just got Kontakt 4, and I'm having way more trouble adjusting to that than I've had with X1. Not that I'm complaining about Kontakt, mind you... I suppose whining is inevitable. Look at Congress. You think these guys are Republicans?

Hello and Happy New Year! There are several good things that I like. But almost nothing is perfect the first time around so I have included some thoughts for improvements, too. - Can put VST's in the multiock. This helps keep things organized by preventing VST's from being skitter-scattered all over the desktop. It's easy to maximize the dock when the VST is bigger than the window, but I would like to see this somewhat automated in a future update.
- The Inspector, Browser, Dock, and Control Bar can be opened/closed by Key Bindings.
- The Inspector has allowed me to use the Console View less often, which is good because I would like to see the CV improved to make better use of screen space.
- The buttons on the Control Bar are big, clear, and easy to hit with my mouse or trackball. I like the configurability of the CB but would like to see it enhanced a bit more, for example, I'd like to dock it left or right, and I'd like to configure it with more than one row of modules.
- I am very pleased with the Browser. It's convenient to be able to drag loops, MIDI, and Audio directly into my project, and the browser nicely closes out of the way when not needed.
- The HELP functions are still in Windows Help format, which I find convenient for quick lookups. The PDF is better for extended reading and for cut-and-paste.
- The Smart Tool is fabulous. The only blame here is that I don't use it like I should.
- I also like screensets, but they take a few seconds to switch. Hopefully they will be made faster in an upcoming update.
Also, I have blocked two people here...for the first time EVER. Simply because they did not even have the consideration, decency, or gentlemanliness to honor the OP's request.

A job well done? If managing to get a piece of software selling like hot cakes when it does very little of what it claims to be capable of 'a good job' then yes it's been a very good job well done by the marketing hype people... As for X1: V-Vocal broken Audiosnap broken. How can CW claim that it's anything other than a shoddy piece of half baked crap?

I like the fact that I went over to a friends house to check out X1 on a computer he built himself and I was able to record a session as the engineer the first time I used the program and it did not crash once ALL evening. Use live audio tracks, MIDI, edited in pno roll, copy/pasted, V Vocal, piles of effects, etc. Nothing really elaborate, but it all worked. Needless to say, that "won me over" and made me feel even stronger, is that the 50 people that seem to dislike the product around here, are a very small percentage of the total number of users. I tend to strongly feel this forum is not representative of how the product is being received as a whole.

Yes, but as soon as you use the screensets, your VSTi's are undocked and scattered about.

But that doesn't mean your the "usual" vs the "exception". I'm truely sorry for your problems and admittedly comments like yours, put me on pause from buying X1. After using it all night, that changed my mind. As far as audiosnap, I don't really use it that much (I work with good musicians) <--- cheap shot!! But honestly, I haven't tried it and take your word it may not be working. I believe Cakewalk is addressing some of the problems as we speak, but needed to come out with X1, so the could "move on". They couldn't take 8.5.3 any further without some basic re-write would be my GUESS. Good luck however. I think between Cakewalk, this forum and unfortunately a little effort on your end, I truely believe these items will be solved.

Not every modern genre relies on the timing of Audio Snap. And not every user knows how to define the particular time variations inherent in his "expression". I applaud progressive music but look at the history of music and you will see that it took quite a while to decipher the classics such as Beethoven, Mozart, etc..
