Yeah, I added alot of questions after I posted the poll. You can go back and it should remember which ones you answered. The unaswered questions will still have a Vote button, the questions you've already answered will show the results.
Although it's been acting a little screwy on my end.

Nice work. By the way, did you mean to leave out Maschine as an NI plugin? Also for Propellerhead did you mean to leave out Record as an alternative DAW?

No, you're wrong. People can only vote once, typically.

This poll is no different than any other like it. Change your IP and another vote is possible.

I doubt anyone is trying to skew the poll to make X1 look better than it is with the population of users. These types of polls don't reflect the whole population of users, anyway.

The users who complain about X1 as if it's unusable just ought to see, some users embrace X1's potential for music production in it's current state. And that's not to say that we who do are not looking forward to X1b or any future updates. The more improvements, the better.

Re:The Offical results of the Unoffical X1 Poll 2011/03/21 03:17:42 (permalink)
    Well thomasabarnes..

I also doubt if people are going to such length to influence the outcome.  A lot of people -like me- are only reading this forum and do not respond any longer. The reason is simple - they like X1, even if it has shortcomings.

However - If someone has the nerve to say he/she/it likes X1 it is only a matter of minutes before he/she/it is called: Unprofessional, an amateur, somone who only uses 12% of X1, a liar, someone who is misleading potentional buyers. Someone without knowledge, and a freak in general...

If someone has the nerve to show something he/she/it likes in X1 it is only a matter of minutes, before he/she/it is pointed at the buglist (or even gets a full copy of the buglist presented in the tread), gets a lot of not-related negative experiences presented, and is somtimes is even ridiculed...

In general - if you do not cry with the wolves, you will be slaughtered...

After a few experiences like that the urge to respond here is totally vanished. Or, to be more precise, the first reaction is to defend yore choice and opinion, but after that it is: "what the hell - there is more in life, like making music, I'm gone"

Anyway - one thing in this poll draws my attention.

To my surprise a lot of people are using X1 on their regular system that is connected straight into the internet. I think that could lead to some instabilities (non-releated programs interfering with X1), and performance problems (by unneeded processes from other programs). I have chosen to use a dedicated system only for music purposes, that's only connected to al local network Only when a service or process needs connection to the internet (for authentication etc.) this sole process or service is granted access to the internet (by setting up ports in my router). I wonder if that has something to do with my positive experiences.

Well - time to keep my mouth shut again until the release of X1b...

The results of the poll could perhaps shed some light on your stability question ("I think that could lead to some instabilities (non-releated programs interfering with X1), and performance problems (by unneeded processes from other programs").  On the other hand I was one of the responders with positive experiences and yet connected to internet all the time. I have never had any issues with that at all. The only thing I need to do to increase stability is to kill my auto back-up program (Memeo Backup) which seems to be a CPU resource hog. OK to leave that running overnight, but when running X1 I "suspend backups indefinitely" in Memeo so that it doesn't compete for CPU.

My PC is always connected to the Internet, and X1 still is usable for me.

As for those users that pounce on any thread speaking possitively about X1 in it's current state, well, let's keep sharing our positive experiences regardless of what they write. Nothing wrong with being excited about X1.

And -- 80% don't know anyone else who uses Sonar?  Hmmm  interesting result.

I actually know a few (I talked them into it lol).

Are you hiding from them until X1b comes out? ;-)
