The PUGTONES move back outta the box. "I DREAM IN COLOR"

Bapu said awhile ago that it's been said that you should write about what you know.  This will give a bit of insight into our minds!  Mark sent the music and I was in the blues mode till I got to the "spacey middle".  The lyrics changed then.  The Pugtones have always been a bit off center and I believe this leaves us there.  Ha, I like it there.  Anyway, this was fun to do.  If you have a chance to listen please let us know what you think.  Thanks!

    Excellent job gentlemen.

I love the 'subdued' feel of the track, and the bass and guitar both sound really good.

The mix is very clear and open, it sounds like you guys are in the room with me.

Warren, I like the way the drums drive this tune and the dirty, distorted guitar.  You did a good job on the vocals and producing this so that it sounds like you are playing live.  It has an analog feel that is warm and welcome.  Kudos!

    i'm digging the vocal approach,
to me it's like channeling some neil young,
between rust never sleeps and damage is done

bass is just walkin', guitar is just walkin'...
    makes for a cool mood.

what's cool is the laid back feel, but it has this 'waiting for something to happen' feeling..
which keeps you tied into it.
stuff DOES happen, but it's more like successfully doing a high wire act.
and i like that it's pretty much relentless, right up to the last note, then it just relaxes.
    LOL

Well you two, that was very creative and mood thriving and had some nice changes in direction. The vocals keep your attention and then wonderment sets into your ear lobes. Very interesting piece with a bluesy feel to it, or is it blues at allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll. One thing is for sure, it is out of the box of creativity and candy.

Wow this is one creative piece. It is like Neil Young meets Frank Zappa with a touch of Buddy Guy thrown in.
Excellent guitar work (nice interplay between bass and 6 string) and change-ups and the lyrics are interesting also.
    Really terrific stuff guys!!!

I wanted to thank everyone who took the time to listen and comment on our new tune. I initially wrote this in May of 2010 and immediately put it away and didn't take it back out for almost three years. I have a ton of tunes written that would never get finished if it wasn't for the energy and talent that Warren has and is. Thanks Warren - you're a great guy - a great partner.

So, anyway, we continue to work on new tunes. We are currently working on a Halloween tune that we hope to have finished about a week before Halloween.

    Thanks again everyone.

    Hi, Warren and Mark,

This is one very cool blues rocker with great performances, excellent vocals, tasty guitar work and a nice clean, wide mix!

Really creative songwriting and the laid back feel of rhythm tracks almost gave me a very early Grateful Dead vibe mixed in with a vintage blues fusion.

You stuff is always very unique and the musicianship and production work is top-notch.  Great job as usual, guys!

Yeah, nice one  I love it when blues gets all spaced-out and twisted. As Batsbrew said, there's a cool tension through this that keeps you hooked. Very cool guys.

Well, I must admit that I didn't know what to think of it at the first listen. That was a week ago. I listened again, and POW! I like it! It is definately a grower. While I write this, I am on my third listen. I love the harmonies. It almost sounds as if the Cars are playing a blues track!

I love it when I think I know more or less what's coming and then the tune just totally throws a curve and surprises me. I never saw that spoken section coming at all, but also can't imagine it being any different having heard it. Does that even make sense to you ? If it does, can you explain it to me? ;)

Cool production you guys!  I like the bass mucho grande!  Good engineering all around.  Love the bottom on this.  Fun vocals.  I love to be checking you guys out at a bar sippin' on a beer and bobbin' me head.

You can't DO authentic, you have to BE authentic and you guys are as real as it gets!

This is such a cool spaced out vibe that becomes rarer to find as music technology marches ever closer to a relentless click track.

    I love it.
