"The Road's My Middle Name"

I don't record a lot of cover tunes, but every now and then I'll do a special request for a friend...
This is one of those...  for a special friend...

Too much of a change (jarring actually) from what I just listened too. I stopped it after a few bars. I will come back and listen again tomorrow when I have not been primed by other styles (I will make it first on my list so as to have fresh ears).

    Nice job?
Country Blues like it should sound.
    Very entertaining.
All your stuff sounds good, been playin it for a longtime now, and it always sounds really really good.
Exciting rythyms with a live feel to the mixes.
    I'd love to achieve that.

Ahh yes. Nice work frank. The mix does have a certain club feel to it. If that is what you were going for, then you succeeded well. Not being as knowledgeable about blues as most fans of the genre, I am not entirely sure what the "right" sound for a modern blues mix would be, but I would have enjoyed a more gritty and energetic mix such as one might here on a SRV song. But, perhaps this song is not the type to receive such a treatment.

A very "live" sound to this tho, unlike most live bands, you can hear all the parts nicely.. Nicely done.

    Soundclick works fine for me.
Soundcloud however, does not work on the newest version. i went back to the classic version. Some sort of Flash issue which I'm not about to screw with.

That was very enjoyable, Frank.  It reminds me of classic roadhouse blues.  This lives up to the standard of all your exceptional songs.

Thanks Wildman... please let me know if you've posted anything I've missed... I'd be happy to listen, and give you my opinion...

Much appreciated  Shad... it does have kind of a bar room sound... I have no idea what modern blues sonnds like... Most of the cats I listen to are dead ... or should be...

Thanks Glen... that is good to hear... I never know what will work at any given time...  I use the old classic soundcloud too..,

Sounds like something I might hear in the kind of place I am afraid to walk into (unarmed).  Authentic and live sounding - the harp always sets that “bartender! Another whisky down here” kind of mood. Playing is spot on as usual. Played this kind of blues many years ago when I was a kid - we weren't this good, but the feeling was there. Thanks for bringing me back for a few minutes.

Frank, I'm afraid I'm running out of ways of telling you how much I enjoy listening to you and your material... like the adjective bin is about empty   I've yet to hear you turn out something I didn't genuinely like.

But, I have to ask: what is that thang you got hangin' round yer neck in the Soundcloud and FB pics?

Ok, now I'm starting to like the blues a lot more.

The only crit I have is, it seemed a bit lacking on the high end a bit.

Frank I originally started listening on my Laptop but felt compelled to listen in the studio.  This is so well done. I enjoyed all the instrumentation.  IMO the organ could be a touch louder.

I like the feel.  I really like the vibe.  Bass sounds good  and maybe a bit pronounced in the upper mids.  Highs seem good here.  Kick is down.  I really like the vibe.  Good job.

BTW, I really love "Any Way".  Nice all around.
