Up to 479 now....the GB ends on Friday.

This thing is picking up steam!  Just 21 people more for an additional multitrack kit (each which cost more than $50 each!)

See the links a few posts up.  Refer someone at checkout to get $5 in epointz you can spend on a later purchase.  If you can't think of anyone, feel free to refer  SmokeyJ   ;-)

I'd like to join this GB.......but....
I've never used Kontakt, and I do have it (I think it's K4). Is it a complicated process to use these "Ultimate Studio Drums" with Kontakt and them piping them into Sonar?
Does anyone have any links that show how to do this?

Sorry for the newbie questions, but I'd really appreciate any help....
Thanks,
Mesh

Hi Mesh,

Installing Infinite Player is not difficult.  Run the installer and then run the Native Instruments Service Center to activate it (just like you would do for any NI product or library).  Esoundz includes an special installer for all of their libraries.  You simply click on the library installer, and this opens a picture.  Simply drag the (unzipped!) Zip files with the kits in them onto the picture, and the installer ensures that everything is put in the right place.  It's pretty easy.  I realize you didn't specifically ask about installation, but I thought I'd mention it.

Now, to use them in Sonar, simply "Insert Softsynth" and pick Kontakt.  In the Kontakt interface, you'll find the Infinite Player under libraries. Find the Multi that you want, double click it, and you're good to go.  The default setup is the drums all into separate mixer tracks in Kontakt and then routed to the "stereo out" of Kontakt.

Now, if you want the drums to be routed into multiple stereo tracks in Sonar, then that takes a little bit more work.  However, at KVR, there's a post that walks you through the process step by step.

Step by Step Setup

The third post from the top tells you how to route the stereo kits (which this GB has tons of), and the fourth post from the top tells you how to route the multitrack kits (of which you'll get at least four of in this GB....you have some choice, but one will have to be the Infinite Player if you don't have it yet).

Hopefully, Mesh, that gives you some useful information.

***As for the GB, it is still going on, and there are more than 492 that have joined.  Right now, the GB link says it is over, but you can still purchase it (and they're still keeping count).  So, join to make sure we make it over 500!!

Thanks Smokey for the detailed reply....much appreciated!! I'll be joining!! :)

I actually have Kontakt 3. Are there any issues with this version that I should know of or is there a better (hopefully free) version?

Kontakt 3 will be fine.  You'll want to make sure that you've downloaded the latest version (which is Kontakt 3.5.(something)..it was a free update).  You could also use the Kontakt 4 Player (which is free to download from Native Instruments).  I use Kontakt 3.5, so there's no need to specifically download a new player.

Just keep in mind that even with Kontakt, you will STILL need to get the Infinite Player as one of your free choices (everyone will get either a bonus choice of 5 multitrack kits or 4 kits plus the Infinite Player) as you can't authorize the drum library without it.

We are now at 543!  Could we see 600?

The group has been extended to 5pm Florida (east coast US) time, so we have until then to reach 600.

Thanks, Ozz. I did indeed recieve the epointz.

btw, I'm not worried about about you hating the drums....the only thing you'll hate is not having enough time to use all these kits!
