Currently, it's at 166 people.  Anyone who signs up before it gets to 200 gets a free multitrack drum kit.  You do need to own the Inifnite player already OR pick it up at esoundz for $50 (and you get a free piano).  If you join this group buy and buy the other bundle (from the first group buy), you can get the infinite player for free (but you have to email allen (at) esoundz.com to get this KVR deal).

As always, if you refer someone at checkout, you get $5 in epointz for a future purchase and you give $5 in epointz to the person you refer.  If you're not sure who to refer, you could always refer me.     esoundz name:  SmokeyJ

    That's the spirit, Keith.

It's up to 175 now.  In addition to the first 200 getting a free multitrack drum kit (which sell for about $50 each), Squids has also announced that those who join the group buy will get a FREE DVD option (just pay shipping charge separately).   So, if you're concerned about downloading and back up, you can get the FREE DVD option (this cost about $50 as well for the last group buy).

Be sure to join and refer someone.

I finally, just yesterday, got my system all set up to use the last group buy drums with the global patch, targa skin files, etc.

    It sounds great.

I'm going to sign up for round two.

Where did you see the mention of the bonus kit being available to people who sign up between 200 and 300?

    thanks,

It was originally "first 200", then due to the addition of the paypal option toward the 200 mark he opened it up to the first 300. He also mentioned that the original MT freebie would have been from the selection of 4 from the first GB, but due to circumsances the MT freebie can be selected from 8... http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=4005910#4005910

Even tho, I'm guessing,  these aren't true "multitrack" kits (except the free add-ons) are they like the last batch where you can pipe each piece out to a discreet track in Sonar via the Kontakt mixer??

Well, it's up to 235 now!

Lots of new bonuses (as described below).  You don't even need to own the Infinite Player as it is now included in the GB.  If you already own it, you get yet ANOTHER multitrack kit (the ones with the adjustable mics which you can use to really make your own drum sound).  More bonuses if we get the numbers near 300.

Refer somone at checkout to get $5.00 in epointz for them and $5.00 in epointz for you!

For people who own or have used both, how do these compare with Steven Slate Drums?  I bought the EX package and am thinking of either picking up a couple of expansion packs, or possibly this group buy.  I like the Slate stuff so far, but am always looking for the "bigger, better deal"!

    Sonar Platinum, Win 10 Pro 64, Intel i7 4770K, 16GB DDR3 1600, 1 x 250GB SSD, 2 x 2TB SATA, Roland OctaCapture, Roland XP-30 (Controller only), Shure KSM-44, Rode NT-1, Shure SM57, Numerous Guitar Amp sims, Komplete 6/7, Alchemy, Custom built guitar, Carvin Amplifiers.

    Hi Ozz,

I own the SSD (Steven Slate Drums) EX package and the Rock/Pop Expansion (Vol. 3) AND I have the drums from the first Ultimate Studio Drums Group Buy.  To summarize the differenece between the two, SSD come already processed and the Group Buy drums come as unprocessed as possible.

The way I look at it, the SSD drums are for times when you just want a good drum sound now right out of the box, and the Group Buy drums allow you to put together your own type of sound (by adding your own compression, eq, and such).  That being said, the last group buy (and this one) come with 50 hybrid kits which are essentially presets with compression and eq tweaks via Kontakt.  Many of them are to get a particular sound.  So, in a sense, you also get good drum presets out of the box with the GB.

Overall, I'd say the GB drums give you more options to tweak your drum sound.  It's just like the drummer was recorded right into your DAW.  The multitrack kits (which you can get a couple as bonuses in this GB) really let you tweak the sound as they have two snare mics, two kick mics, etc.  Lots of ways to scuplt your sound.

So, if you just want to lay down tracks without having to think too much about drums (and you like the Slate sound), the Expansions would be the way to go.  If you want the ability to add your own processing and have more options to tweak the sound, then the GB gives you a better deal.  Bargainwise, you'll get far more kits for the buck with the esoundz group buy.  Plus they do allow you to download them at any time from your esoundz account whereas Slate only gives you a 3 day window.

You can see what Squids of Sonic Reality says about the diffeneces here:
KVR post  (4th post from the top)

Sonic Reality also sells the SSD Expansions so they have a friendly relationship (even though they have essentially competing products).

    Hope that helps.

    Currently it's at 440!

That means ANOTHER mulitrack kit.  So that means the bonuses are currently 4 multitrack kits for everyone (or the Infinite player + 3 multitrack kits).

***This Friday (April 2nd) is the LAST DAY!****

IF we reach 500 or more you get:

    • 1,000 GM and iMap midi grooves courtesy of Groove Monkee
    • Over 100 Squidi Midi iMap grooves
    • A choice of FIVE Drum Masters 2 Multitrack kits from a choice of 10 - OR - you can alternatively choose FOUR kits + Infinite Player (if you don't already have it)

    Other bonuses still there:

    • FREE DVD option, you just pay shipping and the shipping purchase/FREE DVD option will be available tomorrow and product will ship out at the end of the week.

    • There are several drawings for cool prizes (we haven't forgotten - they will be announced all throughout this week starting tomorrow - we're going to spread it out)

We are at 459 currently.  Here is some information Squids (the owner of Sonic Reality and esoundz) posted.  I think it's helpful and concise.

"Friday April 2nd at 5pm it will be officially over. You have a little more time as Reverend said to reach 500 people which will get you an additional Multitrack kit plus we'll just go full throttle and get you the following:

    • Not only do you get 1,000 midi files in GM and iMap from Groove Monkee but you'll also get additional Squidi Midi iMap files including the previous released ones AND double the amount or more in new ones!

    • I had mentioned that it was possible to get up o 150 impulse responses in this group buy through the number of people joined. There was already going to be 75 of them anyway but if you hit 500 or more then we'll get you the full 150 ADDITIONAL impulse responses (they are ALL new and previously unreleased... so yes these are 150 that DIDN'T come with the last group buy and YES they can also work with other convolution reverbs since like last time we're going to give you the waves unencrypted).

    • You get to pick a FIFTH Multitrack kit (again each of these kits is normally $50 each a la carte so getting to pick FIVE as a bonus is pretty amazing!). If you don't already have the Infinite Player then you can have THAT for free (also normally sells for $50 on its own) as one of your choices instead of a Multitrack kit (in that case you'd get FOUR Multitrack Kits + Infinite Player - which is required to be able to play all of these sounds in Kontakt/Kontakt Player). Yes, this is done through our redeem code system on DownloadableSoundz.com but this time you don't have to do anything to link the accounts anymore... you can simply just login to DownloadableSoundz.com now using your esoundz login and password and enjoy the benefits of the additional sound content for download etc. plus you can use your epointz there.

I know that's the wordy version so here's the summary version:

    • There are several drawings for cool prizes (we haven't forgotten - they will be announced all throughout this week starting tomorrow - we're going to spread it out)"

    I give up.

    I'm in.

I have more drums than I can shake a stick at.

    Whatever that means.

Are these kits usable in BFD2? Or only via Kontact/infinte player software?

They're only available for use in Kontakt/Infinite Player.
