This is a power play for control of who's spending the money on what music. After it's passed then another with more restrictions. It's eventually goin to come to this - If a "STAR" plays or sings say Am on a recording or performance that Am belongs to them. If I or Bapu or anyone records it for everyones listening pleasure we are in violation and subject to fines and or imprisonment. Don't think that it won't get that bad cuz it will go as far  AS WE LET THEM. Remember the people that put these laws into effect are rewarded behind the scenes. I've probably already said too much.

I wonder how long it will be before we're given our Party uniforms and a book of rules explaining how we're supposed to think...

You don't think they would stoop so far as to censor Comrade Bapu, do you???

Jon,

My previous post was meant to suggest that perhaps some free market solutions will present itself that renders the SOPA IP contraints useless or ineffectual?

It was an idea I came up with all by myself.

 best regards,
mike

Jon,

Perhaps You and I can find some forward thinking investors and we will run a network of pass through servers and take a big slice of the advertising pie. ;-)

Maybe bapsi will guide us through our IPO.

best,
mike

Correct, Bapu's guidance should always be sought, especially when navigating ones way through an IPO.

What was I thinking?

I forgot for awhile that it was me thinking for myself that brought me to the Coffee House in the first place, I clearly need guidance.

Bapu?

Where Am I?

You Am a good friend comrade.

Yes I'm sure if the bill came about that would eventually happen anyway, leaving the ramifications of the bill firmly in place for other pursuits.

Yes, the very worst I imagine.

I feel that your concerns are well founded.

I thought it was the end of posts earlier today. Right in the middle of reading the latest news here, No Internet Service. All the modem's lights were on, but the internet was off.
When I turned the computer on awhile ago, still no connection, then just as suddenly as it ended, it started again.
Must be the crabs.

I am selling my MIM Fender Stratocaster HSS, red and black. PM for more details.

Everything is better with pie.

Heard about this today.  Looks like they're going forward with some action regardless:

Heard about this today.  Looks like they're going forward with some action regardless:

Yes they are being 'done' under existing laws, no new bill was required.  It seems that the 'Megaupload' websites have been up to quite a bit of what appears to be rather dubious behaviour, allegedly.  Their case will be heard in accordance with those laws.

The new bills proposed have been dropped for now because the Bouy threatened to levy a fee and a successful protest campaign was waged against them.... for now.

I've heard that your websites are exempt from these laws because they don't download anything (they only allow you to upload money), roight?

Exactly and I make sure there's no cash in my jeans when I put them in the washing machine.  I ain't no money launderer.

Also uploading to a website is not the only way I can recieve your funds I can arrange for them to be transferred by whatever means suits you the customer the best.

I can't say fairer than that.

(or can I?)
