The new AMD Ryzen CPU's and audio processing

The specs look good with the new multi-core AMD Ryzens. Looks like Sonar would run well on a new reasonably-prized AMD system.

Any one on the know?

We only work with Intel CPUs. This is a bit more expensive - but we have many bad experiences with AMD (performance).

I've used plenty of different AMD processors with Sonar and have had awesome results.
I switched to Intel last June and have been very happy but there is some good info on the threads that Dan linked.

I imagine from available data that Ryzen could rise to the occasion. Jim had a good analysis of performance which seems to point to Intel being the advantage for audio. Probably not going to be noticed by the average user either way. Ryzen is a huge improvement over past designs.

If I were in the market for a dedicated DAW computer I would still use Intel based system. Mainly because blue is tried and true. I'll spend a few more quid for assurance until I know more.
