I AM... A little upset!! Black Friday Synth Squad Price Slash, and I couldn't resist!!! Now I am stuck, having to learn and adjust again... That's why I try my very hardest not to buy synthesizers.. I thought I asked to be stopped? Going to spend several hours RTFM.. :-( Epic fail! Learning curve..

ampfixer I see Waves has the CLA comp package on for $149. NI has their 3 pack of comps on for $115. I wish I knew something about Waves, like if there's ilock requirements. I know the quality is supposed to be very good. What to do?!?!?!?!? I consider these to be HUGE deals. I know this doesn't leave you much time to do so, but I'd strongly recommend downloading the demo and giving the CLA comps a try. No iLok required - all cloud authorization.

Rapture and Miroslav for me. Rapture for fun, and Miroslav because I actually needed to beef up the orchestral library. So a huge $60. The other more expensive things I had an eye on aren't on sale. Though I did miss the opportunity to take advantage of the sale at Guitar Center.

Its definitely not an iOS accessory or app and when it does come out I'm going to say I told you so. Because, really, these are awesome. I've been testing them for a few weeks now and, just, you'll see.

I think both the deals are good but the Waves stuff is reduced from $500 to $149 and that's hard to beat. I really want a good LA2A and another 1176 would be nice. The NI products are by softube and I like their stuff but Waves is something I can't usually afford. I'll be buying without any demo runs so it's almost a coin toss. Great value vs great sound. What I really want is the best quality and sound. Hmm, I have a couple hours to decide. Any big Waves fans please chime in if you think their stuff is the shizzle.

Consider this: the NI Vintage comp bundle has a dbx160 emulation, which the CLA doesn't have. If you like big punchy drums and bass, the 160 is the ticket. As for the 1176 and LA2A emus, the CLA versions are a little more colorful and aggressive, while the NI's are smoother (to my ears). Either way, you're getting high quality plugins. Oh, forgot to mention: the NI's dry/wet control is very handy. Caveat: I would never buy plugins without demoing them on your own material first. Even if it's just for a few minutes -- you can usually get a feel for what they do pretty quickly. Happy shopping! Cheers, Eddie

No DBX but, on the other hand CLA has the LA-3A and 2 1176 models - Blacky and Bluey. John, I just posted a thread updating (well, totally discrediting is more like it) my previous statement about IK vs NI vs Waves. Long story short - Waves pack in a lot more punch, probably even more than the original unit, and the possibilities in terms of shaping your sounds are, imho, totally worth it. It's a 1176 on steroids. But both IK and NI come very close to the original as far as I can tell/assume.

Finally pulled the trigger and grabbed the CLA bundle and the L1 maximizer. Now I have to figure out the Waves installation process. I took a chance on the maximizer but for $29?? what could be wrong. Don't think I'll get a download for a while due to very high server volume.

The installation/authorization process isn't the simplest, but it's not all that complicated either. Worst case, me or someone else here should be able to help you out if you need. Congrats on your purchase.

All those deals and I ended up going for 10 euros worth of Wavesfactory's normal price stuff. The download was messed up originally but an email and an hours wait later and all was well. That place is like rock bottom prices all year round, some quirky and useful stuff and helpful support. Good guys.

I drove over to the Port of Tampa and tried to buy my 8lbs/cu ft yesterday and SPI was closed. I did get a lovely shaker at Sam Ash at the Kapok Tree Pavilion: I think I paid full price but the cool thing is that I got to try, heck I don't know, maybe 40 different make-models of shakers before I decided this one was my personal shaker nirvana. I turned on a Mexican music radio station for the drive home and worked on my shaking! best regards, mike

You guys talking about the CLA Classic Compressors? Cause Audiodeluxe has it for $110.99 Just making sure this is the one you're referencing. INCLUDES: CLA-2A Compressor/Limiter Modeled on the legendary electro-optical tube compressor, the CLA-2A emulates the original’s smooth, frequency-dependent behaviors that have made it a favorite of engineers everywhere. CLA-3A Compressor/Limiter Based on the early ‘70s solid-state unit known for its unique and highly transparent compression curve, the CLA-3A delivers the quick response and the subtle harmonic distortion for which the original is world-renowned. CLA-76 Compressor/Limiter (Blacky and Bluey) Inspired by two highly-desirable revisions of the famed mid-60s Class A line level limiting amplifier, both versions of the CLA-76 offer the superfast attack that made them studio legends.

fwrend You guys talking about the CLA Classic Compressors? Cause Audiodeluxe has it for $110.99 Yup, that's the bundle ... I don't think I've ever seen it at such a low price. Anyone interested ought to jump on it this weekend. For someone shopping for this kind of compressor package, there's a tough choice right now between the CLA and NI bundles. About the same price for each, but there are some differences which will become apparent with demos. The better choice will depend on your tastes. Either one is a great buy this weekend. Speaking of NI, don't forget their other 50%-off specials on goodies like the excellent Premium Tube plugins as well as a bunch of virtual instruments, including Kontakt 5. And Waves has a lot of other plugins at rock-bottom prices, too -- Vocal Rider for $50 (I know, the sidechain feature doesn't work in Sonar, but it's still useful for leveling out a track), the Musicians 2 bundle for $49 (wow!) ... both at Audio Deluxe. And the list goes on ... Cheers, Eddie

Yeah, I think I have to take the bait on the CLA one as I have the NI stuff. Quick question on Kontakt 5. I updated some of my instruments and now some don't load because they now require 5 - is this right? My choices are upgrading to 5 or reverting back the instruments (or is that possible)? EDIT to add: I see they have Komplete 8 Players - a free download which has Kontakt 5 player. Will these work with K7? Nevermind - they are only a time-limited set of players for demo purposes.

bitflipper Mike, how much were the shakers? I've been meaning to pick up some real ones for awhile now. And did they come with any presets? $14.99 They didn't come with presets but they seem to have "groove" built in. I got the "soft" or red versions as shown above because the sound seemed like it would be just right for mixing into the back ground. Most of the others seemed unnecessarily aggressive and had a pronounced harshness. best regards, mike

I've sent an inquiry to Audiodeluxe with a request to lower my price from $139.00 to the $110.99 price. That's a little too soon a price drop (from morning to afternoon) IMHO.
