This is no joke! This is a thank you post to GOD!!!
This forum's rules say's : "NO RELIGION" and "NO POLITICS". Those could both be defined as many things depending on the person.
I just wanted to say to everyone out there in CyberSpace that regardless of what you might think of me, I do pray every night, and it does help. I was so shocked today to have part of my prayers answered.
I can't go into all the details as to what it was, but it was something good, and not just for me either, it was mainly for a family member.
This is a "Thank You God" and "Thank You Jesus" thread!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I ain't the most religious person in the world, but I do believe, and I know I play heavy music, but that's just me and that will never change and music is another means of color sometimes and color is defined as HEAVY or light ya know.
This is only a religious thread if the MODS make it out to be that way, or others replying, otherwise it's a :"THANK YOU MESSAGE TO A FRIEND".

God's not neglecting anyone or anything, God is not responsible for the suffering in Haiti. He give them life as he did you and me and everyone, what you do with it is up to you, me and them. The point of my message is that "Prayers do get answered, but only if you ask and keep asking". Sometimes the answer is NO and sometimes it's YES and sometimes it seems it never gets answered. I never give up, and never lost hope and out of the blue so to speak, mine were answered. That's a tragedy in Haiti, I hope they keep praying. I will continue to pray for them also, I would suggest that you and everyone else do the same. Bitterness leads to self destruction whether you are religious or not IMO. I never pray for myself, and if I'm not alright tomorrow, I'll be alright regardless of what happens because I know I will be in the end, which is only the beginning. No worries here. Bobby

If you don't ask, you will never get an answer, sometimes it's what you want at the time, and sometimes it's not what you want to hear. If you ask, it will get answered, sure there may be hard times and life learning experiences. In the end, prayer is a good thing regardless of what the answer is. EF

Nothing to be sorry about here Susan, like I told you, I'm walking the thin red line here. I'm discussing my opinion of situational events, how someone perceives them is up to them, they only become a religious issue when someone perceives them as being that way. It's like saying the word "GO", it could mean several things, It could mean telling someone to get away from me, or it could mean good luck or I wish you well, it's all up to how the person perceives the message. All things being equal: Person "A" prays for his football team to win on Sunday. Person "B" prays for the opposing team to win. Both teams can't win. But that is secondary to the main question: If team A wins - Person A will feel the prayer has been answered, and the meme is reinforced. Meanwhile Person B might also believe he has been answered, but accepts the loss as a necessary part of the plan. The meme is reinforced again. A draw brings the same result - the faith meme is very strong. My grandfather was both an Anglican Missionary and a scientist (he was at the Cavendish lab in Cambridge at the next bench to Rutherford). He also authored a book 'Where Science and Religion Meet' a long time before the more recent Dawkins crowd. Sadly I never got the chance to talk with him in depth but I would have loved to be able to talk through some of these things.

To Axiology and guitardog247: Not only are you kill-joys, but you both, for-no-good-reason other than to flout your own anti-religious indignation, barf out (or support) that old familiar and petulant rant that festers with the stale air of an inexperienced/armchair theologian. Save it! Don't wreck a nice post. Wonder where God is in Haiti? Take a good look at the teams who are there to help those suffering souls. In the words of Randy Stonehill: "We are His hands, we are His voice We are the ones who must make the choice And if it isn't now, tell me when If it isn't you, then tell me who will save the children?" But you're right - God is selective in answering prayers. Got a problem with that? then investigate the arguments from both sides as to maybe why the creator of the universe has His reasons for a 'yes' and/or a 'no'.
