Toilet Bowl Halftime Show...
Is anybody else suffering through the horrid set by the Black Eyed Turds? This is some of the worst music I have ever heard in my life... no wonder the Record Industry is going under. Holy Christ almighty! I've got a look of horror frozen on my face right now... it was so morbidly terrible I couldn't even get up and leave the room...I just sat there transfixed, slowly shaking my head from side to side and muttering "Oh my God" over and over!

I watched a recorded CSI and when it was over, turned the tube back to the Super Bowl. My first thought was, who are these aliens?

And the commercials. Loved the first date. Woman thinking "Wonder how much he makes. If he loves his mother. Will he lose his hair. Is he the one...". Guy thinking "I want to sleep with her. I want to sleep with her....". Lol. Which teams are playing this game, anyway? :-)

It was introduced by the commentator as the best SB halftime show in years... not for me. Whoever was running the board did a bad job too. Couldn't hear the first line the girl sang. The only thing of any interest was Slash and I could barely hear him. I didn't care for it. Black Eyed Pees.. JB

Yea I wouldn't blame the Black Eyed Peas..... they're just plain lacking in talent and substance. I would however blame the producers for trying to be neuvo hip by hiring them... uhhh can you imagine what that kind of gig pays? Too bad those in control are such squirts lacking in talent themselves that they don't have a clue that brainless appeal flows downhill and we all suffer.

It damn near shook loose a tremendous bowel movement in me... luckily I had enough cheddar cheese in my system to bind me up good as I was cemented to the chair in abject horror! I'm gonna try and exorcise it now by throwing on "Dark Side Of The Moon". Long live Floyd! I agree with everyone about the sound. Stadium rock's a biotch though if you try to wing it on the fly.

yeah, it was bad. when Fergie was actually singing instead of screaming or chanting "pump it up" then she could really sing those melodic lines. that and slash were the only parts of the show worth even a 2nd glance.

Fergie should've just took her top off... might've had something goin' for them then... though she's been around the block a time or two... that might not've worked either. I need a beer.

I was so unimpressed that I came into my studio during half time to lay down a diddy that was going through my mind from yesterday. It wasn't until I heard my brother yell out Slash that I went in to listen for a few moments until he finished (visual only because the mix sucked big time). I am glad that the younger crowd had their night. I am also underwhelmed at the old codgers that have been allowed to perform during half time over the years. Tonight was uneventful for me.

Middleman The TV sound mixer should be drawn and quartered. Terrible mix. I said the exact same thing almost word for word. I listened to it on my surround system and I spent half my time screwing with the remote turning it up and down. Thank God the game was good during the second half otherwise this Superbowl would have been a total disaster. There wasn't a single good commercial, NO CLYDESDALE'S, the half time show was the most embarrassing, horrible thing I've ever seen. The only words I could understand where, "eee-yea-uhhh" and "yo-yo". I'd rather have seen Jerry Lee Lewis drive on stage in his Hoveround up to his piano and do a couple number than that crap. And what was that disaster at the beginning. I don't even know what songs they sang? I think one of them was the National Anthem, but I'm not sure. Are we getting old? Is this really what the younger generation thinks is good and recognizes as talent?

The first time I heard her cover of Heart's Barracuda on one of the Shrek soundtracks, I thought it was Heart's original. She did great. Up to that point, I had no idea she could sing that well.

Bub--you missed the Clydesdales? They were there, but seemed smaller than usual. The commercials were disappointing to me. Too many aliens and transformers. Yep...gettin' old... Half time? Couldn't tell...the guy manning the controls had the volume so low I could hardly hear anything the whole night. Still a good game and a good visit with friends.

Janet Bub--you missed the Clydesdales? They were there, but seemed smaller than usual. They showed a quick glance of them in the one commercial, but they didn't center the commercial around them like they usually do. The Clydesdale's are the only reason my wife watches the game. She fell asleep halfway through the last quarter ... with her parents here! :) We own horses and my wife is on some horse related forums on the net. There was a rumor floating around when Bud was bought out by some of the people that work at the Bud stables that the new owners were going to get rid of the horses. I wonder now if there wasn't some truth to it after seeing the lack of them in the commercials this year.

I can't recall hearing a mixing job that bad, like, ever. They aren't my style to begin with, but I think for that music to work at all, it's got to be cranked and just thumping. But there was like nothing there...
In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

Well I'm happy to say I've recovered quite well with the help of Floyd and DSOTM... let it loop all night long on my DVD player and it chased that wretched stench out of my consciousness. And I do think Bush, even though he wasn't to blame, should be blamed and actually discussed this with a user on Yahoo. He should've been chased from the stadium and flogged repeatedly with a radiator hose...
