In that case, you might want to talk to whoever maintains your web site because it quite clearly promises "Innovation delivered monthly" as part of the description of the membership program.

Define "Innovation".

Instead of a huge update at the end of march we got the early access and the huge update a few days later.
This is definitely a monthly innovation.
If have no problem with this solution.
It's a great work from cakewalk.

We digitize tapes, vinyl, dat, md ... in broadcast and studio quality for publishers, public institutions and individuals.
4 x Intel Quad-CPU, 4GHz Sonar Platinum (Windows 10 - 64Bit) and 14 computers for recording tapes, vinyl ...

4 x RME Fireface 800, 2 x Roland Octa Capture and 4 x Roland Quad Capture, Focusrite .... Studer A80, RP99, EMT948 ...

Also a reminder - as Craig and others have reiterated, we have never said that we would guarantee a release every month. We generally aim for it and have managed to do so in the past but some releases end up being bigger depending on the feature set and may not fit nicely into that schedule. Its also very possible that you may have a release with no new features but some bug fixes or something else like new fxchains or other content.

In that case, you might want to talk to whoever maintains your web site because it quite clearly promises "Innovation delivered monthly" as part of the description of the membership program.

The release is available today. What's the problem? Seriously, you are going to split hairs. We are more interested in releasing stuff that has been properly tested. What other DAW companies are putting out releases with this frequency? This really seems like minor quibbles. Surely there are bigger problems in the world.

True but I'm responding to "we have never said that we would guarantee a release every month".  Quite clearly the web site and blog has promised monthly updates as part of the membership program that we pay for.

And we have delivered a release every month. So again, what's the problem? You know there are software owners who go months and years without any updates :)

I'm not splitting hairs.  I'm quoting your own materials!  I was trying to be helpful by pointing out that Cakewalk as a company is communicating a mixed message on this which might explain why a lot of people seem confused about the membership program.  A better response would have been "Oh wow, thanks for pointing out those inconsistencies in our message.  We'll have to get that resolved!"

Sorry Dave, but you do.
That´s what I and many others have been asking the bakers to do:
Releasing only stuff which  has been tested properly.
Right on , Cakewalk.

I am pretty certain that most people here know and appreciate that very much. It always seems to be the same few voices of dissent that will be bent out of shape no matter what you do.

I agree with your contention that it is a mixed message. However, updates have been delivered monthly for over a year. So to give the message that updates aren't delivered monthly would be incorrect as well. It would have to be something like "Our intention is to deliver updates monthly, and we have, but in the future that may slip although we don't expect to." IMHO it's better just to leave it the way it is as long as it accurately describes what's happening.

Then there's also the question of how you would describe it if this update had come out on April 5th, and then another one appeared on April 25th. Technically that would be bi-monthly, but if you look at the first four months of the year, four updates would have come out. I think most people would consider that a "monthly" schedule, even though technically speaking, it's not a 1:1 correspondance between a specific calendar month and a release.

Also, I can imagine that breathing on the developers' necks during the last stages of releasing an update doesn't help promote an environment conducive to excellent work. If it was me I'd be unnerved. Kinda like when you gotta wrap up a mix with the client texting you every ten minutes. We all know the feeling.
the way I see it, a little kindness goes a long way.
Yes if you stick to the digital ink, we are owed a release every month, but we are all people and we should try to get along peacefully.
Yes, I'm impatient to receive Sonar 'O', but at the same time I would like the developers to feel safe in taking risks and pushing the envelope.
Many of the cool things we all ask for in the feedback loop require big overhauls of the software and it could be possible that us being too pushy could make the bakers play safe and not invest in the juicy stuff, for fear of an uprising in case of a late delivery.
I personally choose to invest my monthly fee in supporting a group of people that give me a working environment I enjoy using. Yes they said we'd receive monthly usable upgrades (not early access, God knows I wouldn't risk working with a potentially unstable DAW), yes they might be late and yes in the grand scheme of things and for the kind of money they ask, I'd rather happily wait than put pressure on them.
But that's just me, of course

I think we should invite all the people who post "Where's the update? We're supposed to have an update!" and all the ones who say "I'd rather not have something every month, it must be too difficult to follow a monthly schedule" to a large hall, have an open bar, and charge admission to anyone who wants to watch what happens when they start arguing with each other.

We could hardly expect someone who posted in EVERY thread repeatedly each day to just go"cold turkey".

What else would he do with his time? Be creative in a positive way?

I've finally put this together. JB101 you posted a similar name a while back when I posted. Sorry to disappoint you, but no, I'm not who you think I am.

I sense a McCarthyist obsession going on in these forums, perhaps it is the result of persistent trolling? For example I was nearly banned by mistake a while back for simply being in the same thread as these labelled trolls.

Maybe I'll post again in a few weeks or a month when the situation has calmed down. Hopefully then I will still be allowed to have an account, and maybe I will be able to post in an atmosphere that isn't consumed with negative energy. Hopefully your troll debate will have vanished. On the positive side, I am finishing a number of tracks in SONAR right now so onwards.
