[CWBRN-24810] Track color not saved in track template

I like to have my soft synth tracks set up in a template along with it's icon.
Now that we have track colors I added that and it looks great.
 
BUT... the track color is not saved in the track template.

    The templates I've saved are labelled '.cwx'.

    In X3b this problem remains.
    While the track colors are saved in project templates (cwt files), they are not saved in track templates (cwx files).

    Yes.  Problem confirmed here.  A fix didn't make it into X3b.  But we'll try to get it resolved in the next update, which we're working on already.

    Just to be clear, I am referring to Track Templates (CWX) files, not Project Templates.
     
    I didn't see them saving and re-loading in X3c,d or just now in X3e.

    It looks like this is more a feature request rather than a bug.

    Colors are saved in Projects and Project Templates.
    Seems to me this is a bug, but I won't quibble, consider it a feature request.
    It was promised to be fixed "...in the next release..."

    Yes I am nit picky, talking about nit picky do you have the URL for this quote please, the URL you quoted on the other thread was dead.
     
    The actual reason is I'm trying to document bugs here and I need them to point to the actual sources rather than the discussions around it. The difficulty I'm having is that we now have (3? 2) threads about the same thing so it's getting just a tad confusing.

    I removed it.
     
    Some history: I reported this bug on the same day that Sonar X3a came out. During that time a lot of the forum posts were tracked and marked as 'Answered' or whatever, so the developers could be sure to follow up.
     
    There was a great deal of effort to fix all the bugs (and the developers did a pretty good job).
     
    I don't consider this to be a very high priority, so I neglected to mention it again, but I have checked it on each release since X3a.
     
    I thought I submitted a problem ticket, but in case I didn't or it got waylaid, I did it again.
     
    While a very minor cosmetic nit, it seems like a trivial thing to fix and I swear that my Reaktor tracks sounds 34.67% better (and much more spacious) when I color the track in a light blue. For example:

    I agree this is a bug. However, it's not as simple to fix as it may seem and would require some fundamental changes to how we handle track colors (or track templates). So when we weigh the severity of the issue vs the risk of impacting other stuff we end up trading for other fixes. It is in our list and is not being ignored - we're just trying to use our time as wisely as possible.

    For now, you'll need to manually add your blue Reaktor spacial enhancements. Sorry.

    Hadn't tried in X3e yet, but I made some track templates yesterday and there were problems other than the colors. Edit:  I just saw Bill's post, I'll be sticking with project templates for the forseeable future.  Not a huge deal, but templates are incredibly time consuming and it is frustrating when they don't work properly, and yes colors/icons are an important part of that.

    OK, it is a nit-pick.
    Do the best things first.
    It seemed to me like it was just adding a field to the track templates.

    Just to confirm that track colors still aren't saved in track templates in Hopkinton. I posted a Feature Request (http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3160288) before I realized it was a confirmed bug; sorry. It's gotten quite a few votes.

    This is confirmed as a bug by Cakewalk.
    Can a host please move this to problem reports forums and prefix the subject title with CWBRN-24810.
