Trouble in the Hood 1: I'm Unable!
Trouble in the Hood 1: I'm Unable! http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=11120089 -- 4 minutes -- A Rap/Rock Duet with Philip and Danny 'swapping diverse street troubles' WARNING! There is some ratty-preachiness ... which some may find dissonant at various levels. Also, no children sing yet ... (They do in part 2 and 3 ... later) Verses (and lyrics): Philip Chorus (and lyrics): Danny Groove, beatz and arrangement: Philip Bass, Guitars, Drums, and Solo: Danny Diversely-mastered sections: Danziland Productions Danny grafted several rock performances and several mastering techniques ... which hopefully may encourage some chiming. Some of my vox antics are dedicated to Timidi, who succeeds, to me, in making his vox perform as beatz. All comments and crits are welcome!

Liked it alot man. Lots of great tones in there and I liked how the mix sounded alot. The lead vocal line on the chorus seemed a little over the top to me....hmmm....loved the guitar and drums.

Another fantastic, interesting and thoroughly entertaining piece of music from you. Danny's contribution is excellent stuff although the chorus vocals are way loud in my set up as is the guitar solo (beautifully played). I love the vocal treatments and the beautiful mix too.

I'm giddy all over:) I did not know that I did vocal Beatz? Sounds good though. But, um, what is a vocal Beatz. what in the dickens youz be taalkin bout Willis.......:) Thanks Philip... This tune is mindbogglingly good. Production is outstanding. All performances are great. The rap is real cool. Is that vocal Beatz? Love Danny's chorus (especially the chorus in the chorus) and guit work. Wow. Really great guys.

WOW. Philip there is So much good stuff happening here I don't know where to begin. Got serious chills on the third listen. Cause I'm Christian. Though the reality of the title is FELT by all. Trouble at home and in the market-place. And, I almost hate to say this but, you two have turned that truth into a marketable hook IMO. Danni's voice and guitar contributions are ethreal...iron over clay...Spirit giving voice and Melody and POWER to tears. From the opening (Emergency!) Siren to the closing refrain (repeatedly admitting the Humility of The Faith)...well, I'm just blown away. Forgive me, but this is not the "foolishness of preaching". This is crafty Inspiration. Thanks so much for sharing. Can't wait to hear what the children will be singing. Time is so short..Please don't make us wait too long. Thanks Philip! It's later now, and I can't stop listening to this! Allow us to download or reveal how to purchase!

Hi, Philip and Danny, Wow, this is really a spectacular collab with the perfect fusion of Rap and Modern Rock! I'm in for my third listen. Great songwriting and arrangement, and amazing performances on all the instruments. Philip's rap verses really sound fantastic and Danny's guitars and vocals are absolutely stellar. The mix is totally pro sounding, and Danny's tasty guitar solo is the icing on the cake. Truly a dynamite job all the way around, guys! Have a very Happy New Year! Bob

Awsome Philip and Danny. This does sound like a blast to produce. Loved the vocals, you both sound great. I also homed in on the drumming...nice drum work. I know the guitar playing is going to be suppurb, but the drumming, I thought, was excellent.

@Doncolga: Thanks for your excellent crit and encouragement (I thought the verse vocs were a bit loud also) @Philz: Thanks for your utmost encouragement. @Starrise: Utmost thanks for your encouragement and crit; I suppose I should put the words up. (And I thought I hyper-enunciated ... :):):) ) @Rick: Thanks for validating Doncolga. I really wanted to give Danny full exploitation on this in return for letting him mix/master to his specs. the original has much more bass-line as well. @Robby: Its always so excellent to hear from you!!!! You encourage me extremely @James (SMB): Thanks for your critical thoughts and encouragement @Notnat: Yeah you're into the rap thing ... your last song was excellent rap, IMHO !!! Thanks for encouragement! @Herb: Thanks for listening and responding here; you encourage me alot. @Lynn: Thanks for your listen amidst the frey. I'm so glad you approved @Timidi: Yeah you! When Danny and I wrestled to abstract this into a chorus section for Danny's antics, I thought of how you rhythmically employed your vox in a piece or 2 (3 months ago). That motivated me to hastily chant bkg vocs "hood hood trouble in the hood ... trouble trouble", etc. ... which in turn inspired Danny's infamous choir hooks. You've got an ear (and chops) for rhythm and melodic soul, IMHO. @JamesDay: I've allowed downloads thanks to you. I'm totally elated by your kind words and validations. @Mtgonazlez: Thanks so much for your crit! Dan-Vinci :):):) ... made priceless guitar doogles of sirens, and urgent ambient sounds. Some of his excellence got lost I'm afraid, but his Van-Halen-oid solo evolved fwiw. @Reece: Thanks so much for tolerating our bash. The kids appear in part 2 and 3 ... later @Janet: Danny is a shooting star. You've got to catch him on a clear night :):):):) I remembered when he showed up here (again) with great faithfulness and eagerness, about 7 months ago. I'm glad I cought some of his excellence at a time when other fav artist collaborators had 'disappeared'. Yeah, his presence more than made up for my losses of others. @YoyoFactory: Thanks for your strong listen and crit. I'll be sending a song or 2 your way to hopefully enlist your vocals. @Scoobie: Thanks for validating my ratty nature. In Hood2, Danny becomes the hood-rat. I hope you'll crit then, bro. @Bob Oister: You know I have no where near the talent as you and Danny. Danny performed live drums, bass, and several guitar phrases and sections. Plus he mixed and mastered the final stems. I'm always your greatest fan! @Biodiode: I really thank you for listening bro. Rap is out of my normal-zone as well. I bet you can sling those keys like there's no tomorrow (I'll try to listen to your stuff shortly) @Chas: Thanks for diverting from Techniques Forum to meet me here. Utmost thanks for your validation, my friend! @Tap: Thank you sir for your most excellent thoughts and encouragement. You know I thank Danny enough for his patience, perfectionist work, and becoming half of my heart-ache and joy here. @MakeShift: I'm certain Danny appreciates your observation of the drumming. The kicks and bass-drums are my groove ... until the Middle-8 Solo section ... everything morphs into live performances. Danny performed that drum kit; everything is real and live there ... taking this out of hip-hop and into classic Van-Halen antics. @Bapu: Thank you so much for your crit and listen bro! I always anticipate your next masterpiece @BayouBill: I'm most honored and elated :):):). There is some excellent gospel rap out there, but much less Van-Halen-oid gospel. We totally loved working together on these soul vibes. I have to agree with you on the bass being "a tad low just a bit". Danny's bass rocks but he didn't want to 'exploit' it hip-hop-style ... for artistic reasons, iirc. OTOH, He allowed my thumping bass-drums more lee-way than many rock mix paradigms, iirc. His bass guitar is not timid; it glues the mix here, but without hip-hop funk. I've greedily kept the bass-funk in the original Hood Sketch of this: ( http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=9878645)

This is another of those songs that I shouldn't like really, but I just do and I love stuff like that - it's actually better than listening to stuff you expect to like if you know what I mean. Reminded me a lot of your "Army of the lord" but that's ok 'cos I like that too - it's on my mp3 player so it pops up from time to time ( I tend to just leave it on random selection and listen to whatever comes up) Great job all round - I'm gonna have to get me some of that Danzi action some day - better start saving lol !

Nice! It would be nice to have a nice choir to back Danny's chorus. (I know you would it you could.$$) That's the only thing I don't like. Not the effect of it, just the sound. (no offense Danny) Excellent work! You guys knocked this one out of the park!
