I did not know how to respond to this thread lest it is selfpromoting. And yes, I noticed the octaved line and the flange.

This is a majorly ambitious project. The arrangement is very good. The introduction was quite powerful. I have a few constructive criticisms. The "lefty, righty" sounded a little out of place. I think it was the "righty" word. (BTW, this may be very accurate to military vernacular, it just doesn't fit to me in this song.) It didn't lend to the intended power of the song IMO. The vocals also feel "held back". I heard the vocals start to break out during the first Chorus. At this point the vocalist sounded much stronger and much more confident. The verse vocals could use this intensity or style infusion, as they sound a bit too casual to me (again, just my opinion! Please dump them overboard if you don't agree. Just my take!) Sound FX and instrumentation all sound very good. They are reminiscent of Mr. Mister's "Broken Wings". I could also hear a traditional drum kick coming in at around 2:00+ to advance the intensity of the song. The digital kit/loop seemed to retreat behind the rest of the song at that point, although, I hear that in quite a few songs that don't increase drum kit intensity for my liking, so could be a preference thing. Great collab. There was nothing that sounded out of step or lagging in tempo. That's hard to do with so many involved. Best Regards, Matthew

This sounds killer on my set up. Kudos on a great mix. Loved the message............:) The only thing I could say, Glad you didn't use a Rap vocal on this. I think you guy's made the right choice for the vocal. Tim

Wow, that was amazing. What a job of juggling to keep all those musical balls in the air at one time, but you managed to do it. Having heard and enjoyed several of Philip's songs before, there were still plenty of surprises in here to keep me fully engaged. I think that when folks find it difficult to describe a tune with a statement like "...it sounded a bit like _______ (fill in some artist or group)," well, that is a compliment of the highest order. Great work by all invovlved.

Excellent piece and kudos to all the collaborators. Some real complexity to this number, which sometimes can detract from a song, but in this case it made for one fantastic number. Freddy J

Very cool tune, hip and contemporary. I love the vocals, Philip, and Danny's bgv too. Terrific bass line. Pristine mix. Excellent job by everyone.

Great to hear a song of Cliff's again. I hope he can get his DAW issues sorted out soon. Anyway, I agree..this is great. Great performances and really cool arrangement. Especially enjoyed Danny's bgv and playing too.
