Man that site is slow, must be taking one for the collective ? Have they moved on from dialup over there in Russia ? Download speeds of 1.4KB\sec . . . I'm having flashbacks to a time long long ago. Can't even download their Pre amp stuff to check out what it's like, all downloads are corrupt (might be mimicking the Political situation over there ?) Bummer, I like to at least try out all the amp sim stuff I come across, because you just never know, will try again later, maybe the mice on the tread mills are taking a break ?

Well I finally got most of the Preamps, 1 to go, at a screaming average of 10KB\sec Just trying to get the Cab, but at a whooping 1.2mb, it was going to take me 45 minutes at a 500 bytes\sec, but the download crapped out, try again at a latter time. I hope the file size of the Tube Amp Ultra 530 isn't going to be to large when they release it, or they get a few more mice for the treadmill, otherwise by the time you download the first version, they'll probably have V2 ready to roll out.

These are very nice, the UI was a bit strange at first, but they do sound quite nice for what they are, I have only had a little mess around, just hooked them up with the cab thing you get from there, and I like it, I don't know what it is, but well, it makes my ears happy They have certainly got a place among all my other amp sim stuff, I'll be using them for sure. Can't wait to get some more time to mess around with them and try different things and add effects etc. I now have pretty high hopes for the Ultra 530, I think all may bode well for it if it's like this but better, I will certainly be waiting on the front door step on release day. Right up there with my other favorite Russian exports, Maria Sharapova and Anna Kornikova [Edit] Thanks again to Mercuriall up above, don't forget us here, keep us informed :)

Don't forget they are available on their Facebook page (much faster), but they never put the ' jcm800 hot 64 bit vst' or the ' Harlequin 64 bit vst' one's up there.

We have an idea (under discussion) - release a Free version of our plug-in a little earlier the commercial version. We also want make a video contest. One of the rules - the use of «Mercuriall Tube Amp 530 free». The prize - commercial version «Mercuriall Tube Amp Ultra 530". What do you think about this?

Final a small intrigue with a blind comparison of sound. We not only wanted to demonstrate the sound of U530, much to compare it with the original sound E530. NO EQ OR POST PROCESSING, only cab IR. P.s. Switching between an E530 and an U530 is intentionally not in sync with rhythm and meter!. ;) http ://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vxtyfSJPlY

Hell of a slow download from the source, but deeply respect the freeware offering. Got the Tomato dll, and being an ungrateful snob here. Have never used a digital tube saturator that comes anywhere close to live. It does not exist for a couple more decades, even if this is an issue up the line when musicians have forgotten what a tube is. Got some cool sounds otherwise as a surrogate. Reaper Reagate into Cakewalk Boost, into Tomato. Cool plug with a little third party help. John

Yes it is very slow, but they put them up on their Facebook page, much faster :) If I remember correctly there was 1 or 2 not on the Facebook page though. And for me it is all about convenience, much easier than dragging out one of my half stacks, and certainly much less noisier, not all people can be cranking up an amp when they want to record something. I am quite happy with all the amp sims I own, I really like the sounds I can get, having presets, just the general convenience, do they sound as good as the real thing ? probably not, but then if you let that go, you may find they sound very good in their own right, even convincing. At 51, I'd much rather the convenience over dragging out an amp and all the messing around setting up etc, and I am happy with the sound trade off. My amps basically gather dust these days, and rarely come out.

Yeah Jih, At almost 66 here, and the real tube amps are gathering dust for about 30 years now. Can't emulate them with anything digital I got, but close enough that you don't have to mic the thing, put up with the noise background like you said, and wake up the neighborhood needing 120 db to get the sound. Any digital atempt has so far fallen short of the glory, cannot be done yet. Respect the dev of HeadCase who came out of the closet with one of the most powerful overdrive suites on the planet. He said in so many words that a Marshall this or a Vox that was a joke. There is no technology to achieve an accurate emulation. HeadCase thus was published with several amps and cabinets, but were named unique to the suite, and never claimed to mimic a Fender whatever. Still downloading the impulse files for Mecurial. No doubt they will sound great. John edited because I can't spell no gooder than yesterday...

Wanting to give a fair run to Mercuriall and try out what they have done with their impulse cabs. Sticking to my guns that Tomato is different than a live 12AX7, but does not detract from nice sounds, and a lot of thought and time that had to go into offering this as a freebie. Mercuriall dll loads, but the library is not recognized, so a no go so far. Actually read the manual and deleted the .cfg file in case of errors, and started over. Maybe a corrupted download, although the library zip opens fine. Anyone able to get this thing running? John

Grem, Thanks for checking in on me. Music got put on the back burner when a new central heater failed and almost burned the place down. Don't know what I did in my past life to deserve so many house catastrophes. No go so far. Will run thru a checksum calculator and compare with Jeff's figures. Otherwise, download and try again. Supposedly a Facebook download link, but couldn't find a link for the cabinet libraries. I have faith that the software sounds great. Best, John
