Thank goodness. Posting warez links promote piracy. While you might be stunned how else would you propose that a warez site sell stolen goods?

You know, I never even bothered to think about it. I have never once considered buying pirated software so I never went looking for it. This came up when I went to search for some synth that someone was comparing to Rapture or Massive in another thread. and these guys were the first thing that came up in the search.

As i said earlier, I sent an email to Cake to warn them about these guys. But if they are in Russia, there probably isnt much Cake can do.

Sonica Dual Core 3.4 GHz, 2GB Ram, 3HDs, UAD1, PoCo Firewire, DIGI 9652, D8B, vintage synths, guitars and more money than talent (though questionable how much of either). XP Home SP2. SPE6.2. Other things of variable interest.

I have not and never will buy pirated software.

Is there a source of "last year's model" software on the market somewhere? I have several older VSTs I love. What happens to obsolete software?

When new versions of software comes out the older, remaining versions get sent back to the manufacturer. Sometimes there are a few exceptions, but never enough for someone to create an online business and legally sell old copies of software for 10 bucks.

FYI, there are no laws in Russia against software piracy. Cakewalk can't do anything about it.

But what if there selling to us customers, isnt there some kind of law if they sell outside of Russia. There should be an internation copyright law or something.

You're right, and there probably never will be. After all, how could you legislate away activities that are routinely practiced by the government itself? Plus, it's a longstanding tradition there, a cultural thing. I would never, ever do any kind of business with anyone from Russia or Ukraine that I didn't personally know, and even then I'd be cautious.

Many complaints received - I think their files are being removed
The website is still there,
but all they can do is advertise and sell their curtains
