Video: More PC2A T Type Leveling Amplifier Madness [SOLVED]
Loaded 7 waves files, time stretched each one, bounced to clip then did a save, bounced to clip then saved and so on. Then I noticed that on every PC channel where the Leveling Amplifier was, it had switched itself off and reversed the R37 switch and the Compress/Limit Switch.!!! Clicking on the Leveling Amplifier reset it. Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpzLmJ5Hy6g&hd=1

Just a bit! If it wasn't for the video I don't think anyone would have believed me. Just to add when clicking on the module it resets it and also any settings you have, in the video I had the gain around 40, peak reduction around 30 and peak was reset back to the default of 50 when clicking on the module.

Did you do anything prior to clicking on it? I have tried it on a bus and could not get it to reset by clicking on the module. I may not be following what you did.

Last thing I did was save the project, actually saved between every stretch and bounce, but didn't notice till last save. Looked at first track and noticed it had switched itself off, so checked other tracks and it was the same on every channel, so went to switch them on starting at first track and notice a jump, and noticed it had reset the settings, looked even closer and noticed the switches had reversed. So Went down all the tracks reseting the damn thing, then thought I`d do a screen capture for video for the last track to prove it. Edit: Had module on buses too, but the were OK, just on individual tracks. Each wave file were stems to a song so about 3.39 minutes each in length, had odd tempo so rounded it up by stretching slightly. It only resets if the switches (r37 and limit/compress) happen to be the opposite way around like in my case after the time stretching and bouncing to clips. It doesn't reset if loaded as it should look.

You do not need to prove it. We need to nail down what caused it.

It doesn't reset if loaded as it should look. I'm not understanding this. The R37 is not a switch but a screw knob. Its variable. (I wish CW had not been so true to the original for the screw) I have saved but I haven't reloaded yet. I also did not stretch any audio.

This is odd - I will have to pay attention to see if this is happening here. Any evidence as to whether this is affecting the sound? @John - I hear you, I would like the screw to be easier to view and manage. Maybe a slide bar...

Just makes things easier Ive took these screen shots from the video, better to see side by side. OK this is what happened to Amp mod on every track channel after when I did the above (time stretching etc) This is what happened when I reset by clicking on it (where mouse pointer is pictured) and how it should be by default Graphical bug of some kind or not, the real issue is when you click on it to reset it back to how it should be the settings are lost so will effect your sound if youve got it set up the way you like it.

Seeing is believing. I tried this and couldn't make the problem happen. But it's obviously there on your pc. So others may have this as well. I'll stay tuned. Did you send in a problem report?

I'm guessing the sound *didn't* change. Like I posted in the other thread, I think you are seeing a temporary placeholder graphic that's supposed to be swapped out automatically but is getting "stuck" until you click on it. It looks like that placeholder graphic may have been taken from an earlier incarnation of the design or something when they had those two functions graphically swapped, then they forgot to replace the graphic with a newer version.

Ok, this is interesting. Just loaded all 7 waves files again, and its done it again with out time stretching, so it could have done it prior to time to stretching hing before, but I didn't notice it. My default template for tracks is EQ (loads by default anyway followed by the Amp mod) I have it to set modules as default for tracks.

Yes audio does change, but only because when I click on it it resets to default settings. Just try something for me if you don't mind. Insert an audio track just have the QuadCurve EQ and the Amp mod below that, then set the peak reduction to around 30 then right click on the PC and use "set modules as default for tracks" Then insert a new audio track and see if you get the same issue (reversed R37 and Comp/Limit) if you do click on the Amp mod to see the reset. Thats whats happening here.

I'll report it.

I was able to replicate your symptoms. Just as you described I set up the quad EQ and the Leveler. Made them the default with the settings you said to use. I inserted a new track and there it was after clicking on it. What happens is the first track stays as setup. The new one resets. Now I am not sure that behavior is not intended. However it did reverse the positions of the screw and the switch before clicking on and it and it had the settings of the first track. I can confirm!

Yes, that's what the problem appears to be. If you just load the PC2A into the PC, the graphics are okay. But after you "set modules as default for tracks" with the PC2A in it, every time you load a new track, PC2A throws in that bad temporary graphic, which doesn't swap out until you click it.

Thanks for the heads-up guys, This one is just an artwork issue. At times, SONAR displays a "stand-in" graphic until you actually do something with the plug-in. We have an outdated bitmap in the resources folder of the PC2A. FWIW, we had swapped the locations of the R37 and Limit-Switch controls late in the release cycle, but didn't update the stand-in artwork. We've got this fixed on our end and we'll drop an update as soon as possible (with some other fixes as well). If this is driving you nuts in the meantime, you can drop the attached bitmap into your Program Files folder (or Program Files (x86)) under "Cakewalk\Shared Utilities\Internal\PC2ALevelingAmplifier\Resources\" and replace the file "PC2ALeveler_BG_Inactive.bmp" On Edit: alas, the internet (i.e. photobucket) is automatically converting the BMP to a JPEG. Sorry. You can convert it, or just ignore the whole thing until the fix comes out. :-\

I've reported the issue with the steps taken to reproduce the issue. Hopefully we hear confirmation that it's an unintended behavior. Nevermind - it seems it's been addressed.

There's another issue that we're currently nailing down regarding the plug-in functionality itself. It' very intermittent. I think we might have a fix - I'll update asap. ~Bob
