New video for X2,My thoughts after seeing this 2012/09/27 07:32:19 (permalink)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xw5z9BKWD-I&playnext=1&list=PLD864B5E5D429711D&feature=results_video

I was really quite skeptical on X2, but this video had confirmed some of the goodness,
Glad to see that ghosted automation can be removed, so it only shows the automation lanes,
Smoother drawing, nice piano roll improvements a big winner, and the second most exiting thing for me if not the first as i use the inline a lot is being able to move clips via the inline view, this has just brought sonar back home to me, amazing now.

Sure X2 still has  afew other areas to improve and bring up too date, like drummaps making simple, would be best to just be able to write in the piano roll and deff also the inline note lane field directly. and midi control needs something better probally the poorest area now overall by compare to the majority of other daws, but on the whole if these are included in the future, sonar would have my undivided attention,Providing X2 is more stable i will be glad to start using X2, saying that as long a I  stay clear of bit bridging then that should not be a major Problem, bit briding is the number one cause of instabilty.

Anyhow looking good and cant wait, pitty i am skint and cant upgrade for quite some month, really gutted after seeing this video,
Unless any of you studio guys also need Studio one v2 for customer prefered reasons off course lol, But i will be happy to sell for £200BP Or very near , okay! call it £180 and you got a good deal, i say this taking  a really big leap of faith with X2, but the video has made my day and answered my doubts to actaul usability in the way i prefer to work with the inline being  a must for me etc.

Cheers.

I'm generally not a fan of "what's new" tutorials, but this video is GREAT.  Very informative, to-the-point, about key feature changes / enhancements.  Absolutely a great help and absolutely worth watching!

THANKS!

Best video ever - for new versions this is exactly what a user needs... Almost should be a feature its so valuable. And I would disagree with the production values apology by Seth. The stripped down version does the job nicely and it allowed this video to be published quickly. A little higer rez version would be great but this will do.

Thanks for the comment, Blint! The videos are all captured and rendered in 1080p, so there is no higher resolution for us to publish in. Well, until 4k becomes the norm, but we don't have any 4k monitors yet.

Seems a lot are using on board sound (Realtek).  I get no sound with Sonar.  sound works with system and all other software.  Is there something im missing?  Thanks very much.

Shreddi, I think it would be better if you started a new thread in the main section of this forum. You'll be more visible and get more help that way.

Paul's right shredi,
you'd fair better starting a whole new thread.

i cant say what you have said here is true though.
i wouldnt say a lot are using onboard sound, realtek will only take you so far.
its good for windows media center and watching you tube videos, exc.
but with an audio editing software like sonar, you'll only be able to do so much.

your real problem will come when you start over dubbing, latency will rear its ugly head.
you'd be better off going with asio4all if anything, but not realtek.
