I'm having a problem changing the colour/color of Midi Name Text in CV, could change it in X1a, the only one that will not change.

Go grab Panup's Dark Side of Sonar, Freddie. He has the X1b version available and it works perfectly. and yes, he has it for 64 too because "64 really matters!" LOL :) I must admit, I was a bit astonished we didn't have the color change options as well. However, if you look at the huge list of stuff that was worked on, it's really in the best interest of the community to fix those things and then give us the color options. Sure, I would have loved to have had them with this update the same as you, but what good is a DAW program that looks great yet doesn't work? They've actually solved quite a bit of my issues with this version so I'm quite happy and can at least dive a bit deeper into X1 now.

I've got a feeling that using the new skylight gui has given them less of an opportunity to make these objects with user color control.... Maybe by X1c, but I doubt it. that sounds like an issue that may be resolved by X2 or it may be held back due to skylight issues.... Panup is our only salvation... I can't wait for Benstat to have his Skinning Editor ready for us... then with Panups excellent modes and a little personal editing via X1 Skin Editor and we'll be comfortable.... for a bit... Keni

Keni I feel comfortable already, no personal editing is needed anymore... ;-) Changing colors of bitmaps requires new program code and things get complicated. I don't believe X2 allows user change bitmap colors until they build similar Skin Editor Ben is finishing now. Does CW need to do anything? We get user friendly, easy to use and learn Skin Editor in few weeks...

Your work is great but I have a few decisions a bit different in mind... such as changing the R for Automation Read to RD and the red dot to R (in all locations)... changing the peak value (digits) in track headers to a color I can see (it doesn't exist (visibly) in Orfeus)... Just little things.... So I await the editor so I can mix it with your work as so much of what you have done is already what I would chose.... One version or another (Orfeus or Dark Side)... or somewhere close! Maybe benstat can make a deal with them to work his editor into the program/package as they did with the Sonitus tools? Keni

Thanks Panup That would be awesome! R is just too used to mean record all over.... and I know that tape machines typically only have a red dot or some such, but if they had to use the R key on a keyboard, using an R as a label just makes more sense as well as being too important and familiar... I felt this way even in 8.5 when they changed track delete from D to L ...Very misleading! I always wanted an Orfeus of my own! ;-) Keni

PLease Cakewalk, We are not using 800 X 600 screen resolution any more. We are using 1920 x1200 or 1920 x 1080 screens. Come on and make it overall bigger otherwise you need to start include this tool in all your BOX versions.

I think the original GUI of the CONSOLE are clearer and better to work with I just don't like GREY color of all the boards. I want it dark grey or dark blue. That is the only thing I really want to change in X1 not the X1 GUI.

Should Cakewalk stay in low resolution because of that? No way! The new standard should be: 1920 x1080 or 1920 x 1200 minimum. People that don't use that today need to update or it will LOOK HUGE on your old monitors.

No. What I am saying is, in todays world, an audio host should cater for various screen resolutions. I think this is a simple concept to understand, and one that shouldn't be that difficult to implement for a corporation the size and financial muscle as RolCake. Pay some graphic designers to do the job once and for all and stop alienating those in "minority". Even laptops comes in FULL HD today Do check what resolution all mid-price 15" widescreen laptops come at, you will see that they come at less than the recommended X1 resolution. So anyone who wants to buy a mid range, off the shelf laptop to run X1, will have a problem with the oversize X1 UI. People that don't use that today need to update I'm not sure I want get rid off my laptop and buy one with bigger screen resolution just yet. It would be easier to abandon Cakewalk and choose a host that makes the best use of available screen space instead.

Hey, Panu! Are you there? I have to go back to X1d, since X2a does not work on my computer. My main beef with X1 was the damn color of the skin. I would love to use your SonarMods to change that, but I still can't make any sense of your website (which is why I never modded X1 in the first place). Put yourself in my shoes--a musician who doesn't know that much about computers and nothing about programming and code. Your website gives me no idea how to proceed with modding X1. It seems to be written for those who already know. What do I do first? What do I do second? The website contains no directions in order of procedure. Can you just send me a private message if you don't want to post anything?

Saxon1066, have you disabled option to send private messages from others? Register at sonarmods.com and send me private message there to get first aid. This forum's private message box is not comfortable to use because it's too small and formatting does work with my browser. Very first steps: register and log in, open this link: http://www.sonarmods.com/...x.php/topic,527.0.html and you'll see download links for the latest 32 and 64 bit versions of Duckbar. Duckbar is the program you'll use for everything. It can tweak your SONAR so much your mother would not recognize it anymore. Anyway, after Duckbar is downloaded and installed, open Customize | Mod Patcher from the main menu and you will see all the available mods. Please wait until the next version is available, though, because it will have a new First Run Wizard to help newbies set up Duckbar correctly. -Panu (and sorry about lack of formatting)

Here, here. My favorite color might be blue, but to see it everywhere (maybe I just don't like this particular shade) makes me feel a little nauseous. I especially want to change the color of the "LCD" screen.
