I'm pretty much with Guitarhacker on this one. It all sounds very good, nicely executed, and well recorded. I particularly like your point about "play it like a banjo". That mindset is such a crucial part when working with softsynths. As for the tune itself, I'm hearing a collection of soundbytes. Variations on a theme, all of which would make great intro's, and each could stand on its own as a basis for a song. Each section has such a different flavor that you could go in a number of directions with this. Perhaps an apropo name might be "What if?"

Hey, Robby, Very, very cool instrumental, I really like this a lot! Some of the beginning stuff sort of reminded me of the 70's band Triumph. I really like the strings, the organ and the slide parts, and the guitar solo and overall mix sound excellent. This is really different for you, and I kept waiting for your smooth vocals to show up, so I had to get my "Love You Goodbye" fix, as I always do on your ReverbNation page, as well as "In Despair". Anyway, really nice work on this, buddy, have a great weekend! Bob

Philz, thanks! I like the grass part w/the banjos too :-) JC, thanks! Yeah I liked my acoustic sound on this one :-) It's a fresh set of elixers on the Goodall and I'm banging on them with one of these; http://www.stoneworkspicks.com/ it gives a sound you will not otherwise be able to achieve. Thanks Rhyno! it's a combination of the instrument, new strings, that pick, and I'm using a single mojave audio MA-100 over the bridge through the Avalon 737-vt.

you might be two buns short of a picnic but when it comes to songwriting and recording you're one of the best on here Robby! Love the different moods in just the first 30 secs! Mix is very well-balanced, which must take some skill in a piece this ornate. Anyhow, the world needs more country-prog...;-)

I hear Yes, Boston, Dobbie Brothers, and several other bands/songs/sounds. Very cool. Like a classic old school rock mash up.

Hey man, I know a guy named rockinrodge, any relation? Can you post the link to the exact 'pics' you own from them and which one is your favorite? Those are really cool, I'm gonna have to get me one or two.

Guitarhacker I like it in one way...and then in another.... not so much. As I listened, It seemed like you were heading in so many different directions it was hard to get into it.... Throughout, there is a lot of stopping and starting, and that makes it kind of disjointed. Thought it was over then, nope, here we go in a different direction..... Each of the parts were good, well recorded, nice instrumentation.... no crits there..... but you could have easily made three or four complete songs with the musical themes you had going in this. Hey, this is just my opinion.... I know you spent lots of time on it, so take what I say with a grain of salt. Herb, that's why it's called WTF!? LOL!

geeare1 Hey Robby, I thought there was some sort of flame war going on when I saw the title...this is almost as good Just kidding, this is really good! I think you've managed to create a cinematic piece using largely acoustic instruments which is kinda unusual and very cool. Great playing and tone on everything...very nice. Thanks Gary :-) The orchestrated part definitely has that cinema vibe, that's what I was going for there.

Guitars sounds great, I wish I could get my acoustic recordings to sound that good. Really excellent. Are any of these samples or are you playing all the instruments? Nice transition to upbeat rocking at the end. Your bio sounds vaguely familiar. Your mother must have been an excellent swimmer with those webbed feet. Regards

Janet Well, it's pretty weird to do an instrumental, but this turned out pretty good. That echo-y guitar part is cool. :) So many instruments here. Nice! The cinematic part is great! Oh, and here comes the rock part. :) Thanks Janet, thanks for listening along the way and then trying to sound surprised :-)

Yeah, and actually I guess a lot was added before you heard it when it was done. You'll get none of my orchestra until it's complete.

Not crazy about the title but a fine piece of music? Playing is lovely? I would pull the reigns in a tad on the strings (and bump up the vocals a bit more) but all else sounds really fine?

Thanks very much Steve, Kenny and Dan, Bobby, A1, Grant, and if I missed anyone, I apologize not trying to. I enjoyed this one :-) It's been a while, I finished Dream Girl which took a month! And now I'm working on one "I thought?" would be easier? But it took me 2 weeks to do a sinking banjo track on it! So I guess that's just how it goes... The digital studio is both a blessing, and a curse :-( It's a blessing because you can try to make everything sound exactly how you want? It's a curse because you can try to make everything sound exactly how you want... And if you want it to be a certain way? It's hours, and hours, and hours, and hours. But I'm not telling any of you other addicts anything you haven't already come to grips with.

Robby, every time you do something it sounds better and better. I only have one question, "When is the album going to be available to purchase?". I figured I'd reply again on this one after listening again, every time I hear this it sounds better and better. This is GREAT! Bobby
