WTF!?
That's the name of my new instrumental... It's interesting because my music is extremely vocal? It has a hook... It's easy to name? This one has been kicking around in my brain for some time... I've been trying to come up with words for it? But they never came... It is basically a 3 chord song? (like sweet home in Alabama?) But it goes through several different genera's... And gets a bit more complex each time? And then ends in a hard rock thing? :-) I can't really explain it better than that? It came pouring on out... There are no loops or samples? I'm doing everything? I hope you like it! WTF!? I recorded it for several weeks... But mixed it tonight for a few hours, so this is the 1st blush? I think it's pretty good, I hope you do as well. At the top...

Banjo man, This is pretty cool. I like all the different textures...they all work just fine. The banjo and dobro give it a down home feel, then the cinimatic sounds kick in....then the hard rock part....too cool, dude! Nice playing on everything too.

Hey Robby, I'm a +1 on Scotty and James' comments. Too cool, and, ' we don't need no stinking words' I'm a sucker for banjos, I have to say. Very well done. Have you been watching 'Justified?'

I really din't know what to expect. The title does a great job in describing my surprise (in a positive way). There are many familiar influences at work here. Love the dobro and banjo btw. Nice performances on a variety of instruments and the mix sounds quite good on the speakers. Back to mixing in the cans? Love the tone of the acoustic, although I would bring it a tad more upfront. This may be due to my current obsession with my quest in achieving a good acoustic guitar sound and I might have my acoustic guitar player ears on. You haven't "shocked" me at all with this piece, but that was a good try. Entertaining production. Bravo!

Nice playing there Robby. You record that acoustic so well and some how this all works and sounds great. No lyrics here. Wow. You painted a picture and it really tells a story.

I like it in one way...and then in another.... not so much. As I listened, It seemed like you were heading in so many different directions it was hard to get into it.... Throughout, there is a lot of stopping and starting, and that makes it kind of disjointed. Thought it was over then, nope, here we go in a different direction..... Each of the parts were good, well recorded, nice instrumentation.... no crits there..... but you could have easily made three or four complete songs with the musical themes you had going in this. Hey, this is just my opinion.... I know you spent lots of time on it, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

Hey Robby, I thought there was some sort of flame war going on when I saw the title...this is almost as good Just kidding, this is really good! I think you've managed to create a cinematic piece using largely acoustic instruments which is kinda unusual and very cool. Great playing and tone on everything...very nice.

Well, it's pretty weird to do an instrumental, but this turned out pretty good. That echo-y guitar part is cool. :) So many instruments here. Nice! The cinematic part is great! Oh, and here comes the rock part. :)

Mr. Bojangles :-) Actually that banjo is my Roland Juno, the trick is to play it "like a banjo..." I did play the bowtar on the bluegrass parts though? That's the strings. And my mandolin and dobro. Thanks very much, "Nice playing on everything too" Coming from a musician of your caliber, that's high praise indeed :-) THANKS SCOTTY!

I liked this! Reminded me of some 70's proggy stuff, like Yes or Jethro Tull, in parts. But then adding the "bluegrass" elements was very creative. NICE JOB!!

Sounds really nice! Sort of epic country or a background song for a National Geography video. Not quite a WTF! song which I expect for other genre. The change up in 3:00pm really changes the direction on this piece.

This is absolutely brilliant - thanks for posting. I think this is definitely an instrumental - however it could have a 'phrase' keep comin up if you did want vocals - but the music certainly does the talkin here.

Now this is really a cool tune.... Love the Banjo bit! Yeah it does sound kinda like the intro to a Jethro Tull tune. Great stuff, you should just let go more often!

Right up my street Robby, I like this very much. I could imagine this as a theme tune for a TV series with any of the sections lending themselves to incidental music. You should more like this, you have the knack for developing a theme. James

An interesting piece, almost sounded like a backing track. The slide was good. I would like to hear some sort of lead over this, vocal or instrumental, although if vocal I would change the name. I wasn't wild about the name and as a vocal I'm not sure where you would go with that. ;>) The rock guitar lead was good as it brought in more melody. Well constructed and well played.
