Re: Waves Plugins in Sonar Platinum Problems 2015/05/19 14:55:40 (permalink)
Hi !! I´m having this same **** in my setup.

I´ve just updated my Sonar to Platinum, installed waves v9.27, route the vst folder where the waveshells are, but I can´t make them work, they don´t appear on my vst plugin folder. Anytime I try to re scar the vst this pop up appears:
I´ve made two screenshots:

The pop up asks where´s the waves plugin folder, it doesn´t matter if I redirect it, it won´t work.
Hope you can help me out with this!

Waveshells should be in \Program Files\Common Files\VST3 if I remember correct.

You need nothing VST2 from shells, really.

Yup, sounds like a little house keeping is in order. If you're queezy about doing it yourself, Waves will do it for you via a remote log in app if you're wup is up to date on at least one plug-in.

What is WUP? I looked around the waves site but didn't really answer my question.

How does WUP work? Is it an option?

Waves Update Plan. Each new plug or bundle comes with 1 year then you can re-wup after that for the latest updates.

So thus is only for an update, correct? The plug will still work after the wup expires?

Yep. It's only if you want updates that go beyond that time.

TBH, expired wup means you can still run and update according to v9rxx, where xx is installer revision.
These bugfixes for v9 do no require active in a wup.

What you miss out on not being in wup, is that new plugins added to bundle you own will not run.
Last year I was in wup, and Vitamin was added to Gold bundle, so I got that for "free".

Those that have Mercury, would have gotten H-Reverb now etc.

And wup also come with a voucher on that amount, meaning you can use that money getting discount on top of other campaign offers(25% on single plugin, 50% on bundles).

I followed comment 27 but it didn´t work, sonar searchs the vst path at startup, it finds the waveshell x64  but automatically pops up a screen asking where´s plugin folder

I´m thinking on removing sonar and waves and start out from zero...cause I need my studio to be workable ASAP

Just these 3 steps.

1. uninstall Waves?
2. delete the folder C:/users/Your name/appdata/Roaming/Waves. If the appdata folder path is hidden then do 3.
3. press Windows key + R enter %appdat% select Roaming delete Waves folder.
4. reinstall waves?

It worked!!
I did all steps before but installed a different waves file, 9.2 not 9.27. Also I reboted the computer after uninstall.
Now I have to add some v8 plugins, hope it works well....

Man, I hope not. I just invested in Platinum along with Waves Horizon bundle as well as the Abbey Road Collection as icing on the top. I hope I have a decent setup now.
