I had a problem. What worked for me was to send my Waves licenses to the cloud, completely uninstall Waves,
Start Sonar and rescan so it removes Waves from its plugin list, reinstall Waves, send the licenses from the cloud back to my computer, Start Sonar and rescan plugins. Works fine now. if you have any Waves demos that are expired get rid of those. An expired Waves demo prevented my vst scan from completing.

FWIW I have been running Waves (even from old projects) without a crash.

I'd try what mikedocy did.

I had to do this with Melodyne Editor, as it would not show up in Platinum until I did.
Others also had similar issues with Melodyne and other plugins.

Sounds like a good moral to the story is not to install or at least leave Waves demos lying around.

I have a number of Waves plugins and they have been working trouble-free in Platinum.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.  Upgraded to Platinum for X3e and have had no problems with my Waves plugins at all.

Waves good here also. No glitches so far.

A deep chesty bawl echoes from rimrock to rimrock, rolls down the mountain, and fades into the far blackness of the night. It is an outburst of wild defiant sorrow, and of contempt for all the adversities of the world. - Aldo Leopold

I'm running Waves plugins in Sonar Platinum here with no problems. Try a full VST scan. If that doesn't work, try again but scanning existing plugins.

Peace!

I only have one, Abbey Road ADT, and it caused my first crash in Platinum! (Windows events log showed it was the problem).

To be fair, I've had three other crashes in Platinum without ADT plugged in, and this worries me as it's more than I had in six months with X3e. Anyone else getting more crashes with Platinum?

I still can't quite believe that I haven't had a single crash, glitch, or freeze with Platinum, even though I've been beating it up pretty hard due to developing content for the membership program and mixing/mastering a 6 GB live sound hi-res concert.

They work fine here. Try the reset/rescan, bearing in mind that often a rescan alone is not enough.

It's easy to forget but sometimes you just have to reset, then rescan.

What versions of Waves plugins do you have?  Have you tried updating to the latest versions (if your subscriptions are current)?

Waves updates their subversions often, especially for every new plug-in or plug-ins. Be sure you've got the very latest versions. Also report these issues to them. No issues with mine, btw, but older Waves versions will give you problems in Sonar. Best of luck!

You can have your plugins in more than one folder.  You can use the plugin manager to point to both folders.  I don't think this would cause a crash - the plugins just wouldn't show up in Sonar.  It sounds like it might be time to contact Cakewalk tech support for their help.

Excellent. Also, make sure you're not mixing Mono <-> stereo or 64-bit <-> 32-bit Waves plugins on the same FX bin or ProChannel. If further crashes occur, I'd definitely get with Waves first. They usually have some workarounds to minimize the crashes.

Good Morning,
Thank you to everyone in this forum, you support is amazing. I have fixed the Waves plugins issues.
Here is what I did. After Contact Waves.

Before do anything create a restore point in Windows or Mac

I  sent my Waves licenses to the cloud.

Uninstall Waves completely and start fresh.

Here is a complete step by step instructions on how to uninstall and reinstall Waves on your system:

Go to Add/Remove Programs and remove anything of Waves  Control Panels > Programs and Features > Uninstall or change a programGo to Program Files(x86) and delete the Waves folder. Program Files(x86) > WavesGo to the Start Menu > Search > For all files and folders and search for "Waveshell". Delete any entry you may find.Click on the Windows START button and search for: %appdata% (this will take you to the Roaming folder - inside that location, delete Waves Audio folder).

Empty the recycle bin. Until here didn`t Work. But I follow some tip from Cakewalk Forum.
  • Go to C drive and search for Waveshell. Delete any files or folder. After Search using Waves.I found more folders. Please be careful because there as well more folders from Native Instrument with the name Waves.
  • Run Sonar Platinum (Scan all plugins)
  • Install all Waves plugins,
  • Run Sonar Platinum very important (RESET ALL PLUGINS).
  • Now work perfect.Thank you again,
    Kindest regard,

The Waves folder in the Roaming tree (as explained above) is the critical one to remove. I had a similar problem after buying some new waves plugins and reinstalling the app. This is the one folder that must be deleted so that an updat or additional installation can take place.

I hadn't come to the forum, I went to Waves and got an email back in a couple of hours. Their support is pretty good.
