It is cumulative relycandy....

Go to the Waves site and log into your account and see if upgrading them individually is cheaper then the current cap of $200, which is going up to $300 in January.

Then you'll know where you stand...

I was dead set against the 'wup your arse' plan, just on principal alone.

The only reason I even considered it at all, was when they FINALLY went to 64 Bit with Version 9.
All my Waves plugs were still current, except just the Musician's 2 Bundle that was out by about a month or so, so I bit the bullet and paid a mere $18 or so to renew it, since my 2 DAWs, most of my plugins & my custom built rig are all 64 Bit now.

My understanding, was that the $200 cap was a TOTAL wup fee per year, regardless of how many plugs you had.
Raising that to $300 is bad enough, what with so many countless other competitors sharing or even stealing the market now.

But if it's $300 per plug or bundle, I think that may cost much more than it will pay off for them.

Lots & lots of other options out there now for plugins, with seemingly more & more coming all the time.

I have been looking at the Kramer Master Tape plugin... I started reading everything trying to figure out if it is 64bit. I stumbled upon the V9 information but there is nothing that tells me if the plug they are selling for 79 bucks is V9... or if not, will the upgrade to V9 be free. Will I have to pay them every year.
Their site is so confusing I think I am going to pass. I can probably do as well with the PC modules of Saturation and Tube.

I had it in my cart, ready to buy but I am just not comfortable with it... too much stuff I don't understand. It makes me feel like I am being sucked into something that will keep sticking its hand in my wallet in order for everything to be up to date and working. Their business model seems creepy to me. Maybe I am wrong... I will keep reading and try to understand better. Maybe I would be better to wait and buy a bundle.

Are any of you using the Kramer Master Tape plug and do you like it? Can I do pretty much the same thing with the PC?

Thanks,

J

OK.... nevermind. I think if I go with Waves I will get the Mercury bundle. If I am going to do it I may as well do it right...

@j - when you get the downloader, you can go for whatever version of theirs you want.  Just pick Version 9, which is the latest.

You run the installer, and pick off the ones you have or will have licenses for, and/or the ones that you want to try out.

I'm pretty sure V9 is all 64 bit.

You could email them and ask.

I get my replies from them in a day or so.

I do have that Kramer Master tape one but haven't used it yet.

But it did open just fine on my 64 Bit rig & both DAWs, as I always check as soon as I install them.
