Okay... I think I got everyone a message except Baps (I'll get at you momentarily dood).

Currently sitting at $142USD and I just fired off the last messages. Looks like we are just on the cusp for a store purchase so let's see what happens in the next little bit.

Sorry I haven't been able to reply to PMs just yet or update. Absolutely amazing, guys. I'll post again in a second but wanted to give the update. Cheers.

Feels good to be doing this - I lurk mostly, but enjoy this community (and Beeps' posts) a lot.
I just checked Paypal FAQs.  US to Canada is international.  It looks like the transaction fee will be 3.9% plus $0.30. So - roughly US$0.70 fee for US$10, or US$1.08 for US$20.
It looks like the sender can opt to pick up the fee; if not, the recipient is charged.
Let's not leave Beeps just a bit short of the goalpost :)

-Jim

PS - and thanks to gswitz for getting this going !

On a $20 payment from the US to Beepada you'll actually pay a $0.88 fee.

And we have broken $150. Awesome! That should be enough to get the upgrade through the store.

Thanks guys! Gonna go apply that to the upgrade to make sure the special is still going.

What a rush.

As far as everyone talking about how I help out... you guys have pretty much taught me everything I know and I'm still learning mountains from this place daily. It only makes sense to pass that around. In fact it's my absolute pleasure.

That must be why it didn't charge me anything. My PP account is linked to my bank account.

Success! I have put the order through and I seem to be a proud (yet humble) Platinum owner. Due to the exchange rates there seems to be a bit left over. If no one minds I'm going to put that toward the Karl Rose vid on synths or some other educational material.

And yes... you can bet your butt I'll be sharing everything I learn. I'm absolutely flabberghasted at all this.

Thanks, Geoff for making this happen and to everyone who contributed and really to everyone here on the forums. I'm spinning.

Gonna see what I need to do to download. I haven't used the new store yet. Looks slick.

I'll keep everyone posted. Cheers.

I'm going to figure out the offline install because that's how I usually do things anyway but it's also less documented than the CC method. That way if anyone needs help doing it I'll have gone through the procedure and can help. I'll of course give the CC a run through at some point as well to learn how that works.

As usual scook's posts are pointing me in the right direction for the offline stuff. Will report back.

Something to bear in mind, Beepster.
You can do the manual download and as long as you put the installers into your designated CCC download folder, when you action the CCC to do a particular install it uses your existing downloaded file rather than trying to download it again.

By doing it this way it allowed me to download files much faster as I could do them in parallel as opposed to CCC which downloads a file then installs it etc.

I'm eagerly awaiting my new system from Jim and it will have dedicated drives, so I can't use C3. I'll be sure to look at Beepster's notes to see if there are any gotchas.

I'll be working off this vid (which I found via a google search of the forum which produced a scook post linking to it)...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roIgly_GjoI&feature=youtu.be

Little convoluted compared to the old system but not all that complex. Just a bit of back and forth with the reg file.

Took me a second to realize the Platinum download was in the Connected Products section of my account which is hidden by default but it lists everything (most of which I already owned so I only dl'd the main program for now and will snag the new goodies after... which seem to be mostly the stuff released this month and the Addictive Drums update which needs to be accessed from XLN anyway).
